Welcome to "Brokeback Bedrock"
After a year with major consultations with prominent gay groups, Hanna-Barbera, a unit of Time-Warner-AOL, has announced plans for a new animation movie, "Welcome to Brokeback Bedrock".
"The 90 minute movie will bring Fred and the gang out of the Judeo-Christian stone age and into the progressive modern times" said Richard Bonedance, entertainment consultant for the HRC(Human Rights Campaign), the largest gay lobby group in the US.
In the movie the way Fred and Barney meet Wilma and Betty, is changed somewhat from the original TV series, but reflects the goundbreaking and stunningly successful and 28 Oscar winning "Brokeback Mountain".
Fred and Barney working at the Stonehenge Hotel for the summer meet the young Wilma and Betty and ask them out for a date, but when Fred loses the date money and sees them walking down the hall, Fred and Barney run and hide into a broom closet, where nature takes over and a love blooms.
Fred and Barney see Wilma and Betty the next day, and tell them the reason they stood them up is that they had gone out for Brontosaurus burgers.
Fred and Braney eventually marry Wilma and Betty and have families, but their marriages are periodically interrupted by weekend long trips to get Brontosaurus burgers.
Other highlights of the updated Flintstones movie, include appearnces of 60's stars Rock Hudson(Rock Queery) and Liberace(Libertalcum).
Also included as subplots are Fred's boss's, Mr. Slate's never ending battle with an all powerful corporation "Haliboulderton", two noble politicians fighting for progressive values, Rock Reid and Nancy Pelistone, and Wilma's mother constant courting of Betty Rubble.
Sir Elton John has signed on to pen the new theme song and has been quoted as saying he is having trouble coming up a rhyme for "the courtesy of Fred's two feet".
All in a all a gay time is guaranteed for all.
Release is scheduled for the Winter Solstice season of 2008.
The Flintstones premieried back in 1960 and back then the word "gay" had a whole different connotation, before it was hijacked by the homosexual lobby and cultural marxists.
Despite the positive depiction of a healthy homosexual couple (Ernie and Bert) the series has for years made fun of people with disorders and the poor. A homeless character (Oscar the Grouch) is constantly berated by the other characters and is forced to live in a garbage can. A character with an eating disorder (Cookie Monster.) is the subject of many jokes. The series also makes light of a staple character with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (The Count.)
Bert and Ernie have a healthy relationship? Bert is the epitomie of the perpetually pissed off.

All kidding aside, I posted this to show where hollyweird/MSM thinking could go.
