Although the French riots have been officially proclaimed over, forty to sixty vehicles are still being burnt by rioting Muslims each night, a senior member of the Minstry of Internal Affairss, Stéphane Fratacci, said Thursday.
Mr. Fratacci made the announcement at a special session of the French State Council, convened to review a request made by a group of University professors to abolish the State of Emergency, which was imposed in the aftermath of the mass riots that engulfed France last November.

This is pretty much normal for France. It has been going on for years. The only reason the big riots became news in the US is because of the sheer number of cars and buildings set on fire. USually, it spikes on New Year's Eve too.. with hundreds of cars being burnt. This also has been going on for years and never made it to the US news.
It would probably help to contain the rioting if French authorities would simply deliver the requisite 40 to 60 vehicles required so it would not be necessary to go out and find them. They could have them at a nearby staging area from which they could be deployed as needed.
There would be hell to pay, I'm telling you, if this were August and they needed those cars to go on vacation! The French Army would be called in to kick some--well, to restore order---well, OK, they would display a show of force---OK dammit, they would just surrender!
Do they bring marshmellows...oh, FRance, perhaps some Brie on the Hood. Hey what a great revolutionary song...
" Watch out for your Burka, there 's Brie on the Hood!"
Maybe the car burning is really a secret gov't program to prop up French carmakers?
France is a former republic and future Islamic theocracy.
Oh, come on, where's your compassion? They're probably killing them for food.
Yes, but the rate of burning is slower than before Chirac finally got everything under control.
Don't mess with France! (You might get involutarily surrendered on, which could cause a nasty bump on your head)
The french, like our Democrats, believe that if you say something loud enough and often enough, then it will be so. Voila!
The torchings are at a 'manageable level', so they're not newsworthy.
I'll bet there are some happy car dealers in France, though, and some unhappy insurance companies.
I tried to burn my 62 Renault Dauphine once too! Why?
Because I wanted to..
If you owned a car made in France, you'd burn it too.
I found out AFTER I bought my Renault that in 1962 the auto workers were on strike and the car was manufactured by prisoners and grammas...absolutely the worst car I ever owned. (abandoned in the #2 lane northbound Pacific Coast Highway somewhere between Santa Barnara and Los Angeles.)
