NBC to “Enrage America!” against Minutemen.

If you are a Minuteman or Minuteman Supporter – You are being attacked and NBC is putting the lives of law abiding, peaceful border security demonstrators at risk.
By intentionally creating an environment of rage and hate and putting the lives of Minutemen all over the country at risk we hold NBC responsible for any and all violence, persecution, brutality, aggression, hostility and “hate crimes” toward Minutemen the promotions incite. Stop the show and stop any escalation of the hate.
The truth is Minutemen are demonstrating that we can have a secure U.S. border and completed a successful operation during October with thousands of patriot volunteers without incident. Minutemen save lives and want a secure and orderly way for anyone who wants to be a U.S. citizen to enter this country legally.
The National Broadcasting Company (“NBC”) has been airing promotional advertising on its television network for an episode of Law and Order scheduled to be broadcast this evening, Wednesday, November 16, 2005, that is harmful to the reputation of the Minuteman Project, Inc., and Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, Inc.
Their outrageous promotions of this episode include the following language:
ANNOUNCER: Wednesday, new Law and Order… twelve immigrants, cooked alive in a boiling hot truck.
CHARACTER: You classify that as something going down?!
ANNOUNCER: Was it murder? Or Minutemen protecting our borders?
CHARACTER: Nathaniel shouldn't go to jail for protecting this country!
ANNOUNCER: The episode that will enrage America!
CHARACTER: You don't know nothing!
ANNOUNCER: New Law and Order, Wednesday on NBC.
After numerous phone calls to the NBC Legal Department, which always resulted in being put into a generic voicemail box with no response, we sent a “cease and desist” letter to the office of the President of NBC, Jeff Zucker, this morning. We have not yet received a response.
By directly naming the Minutemen by spoken word and in text flashed on the screen, NBC insinuates the Minutemen murdered immigrants in an act that will “enrage America.” We feel that these outrageous statements will result in violence against the Minuteman members.
We are asking that you phone your LOCAL NBC affiliate and complain about this attempt to defame the Minutemen.
And please email this to anyone you feel would make a call to their LOCAL NBC affiliate and ask them not to air the episode and to halt airing the defamatory promotions of this episode.
The Minutemen have an excellent record of peaceful, law-abiding and non-confrontational behavior when conducting our activities around the country. We have a no-contact policy with suspected illegal aliens that can only be set aside to render emergency aid. In fact, our members have rescued and saved the lives hundreds of men,
women and children who have been robbed, raped and abandoned to die in the desert wilderness without food and water by their human traffickers.
Our members have gone through background checks and interviews so that people with violent felony convictions and racist views are kept out of our organizations. There has not been one incident of a Minuteman member being charged with an act of violence on our patrols—let alone murder. On the contrary, our members have been assaulted on numerous occasions by our opponents.
These attempts to defame the Minutemen must be put to an end. Please take a few minutes to call your LOCAL NBC affiliate right now and ask them not to air the episode or the defamatory promotions of this episode.

When, about 10 years ago? The old "ripped from the headlines" lie they use is disgraceful. According to that show, only affluent white people commit crimes. CSI is getting just as bad.
A shame NBC can't stick to true facts, instead of being a shill for corrupt employers and illegals.
Agreed on L&O. I don't know when, but it definitely jumped the shark a while back.

"Stories ripped from the headlines" is simply a euphemistic way of saying "we have screenwriters who suck a$$."
I think Michael Wolf is an okay guy-and for someone who despises 90% of the dreck that comes out of Tinseltown, and the pathetic cretins that produce it, that's quite an encomium-but his show is one of the most poorly written pieces of bilge to come down the pike since the last Steven Bocho pilot.
How much creativity or intelligence does it take to pick out a lurid crime story from the Daily News, change the names and circumstances of the participants, and then tack on a politically correct, doctrinaire leftist storyline?
I could do that, and would be willing to work for half the salary of the overpaid scribblers they have on staff now.
I've noticed that as well -- Law and Order, CSI (particularly the Las Vegas one), and Without a Trace all portray Christians and pro-Lifers as whack jobs; and the sniper/terrorist will usually be your typical Anglo-Saxon male. Although all three of these shows have their entertaining moments, I've stopped watching them because their overt political agenda grates on my nerves.

So it seems also that most of you posting here are far more worked up over my opinion of the show rather than what the show is about to do tonight.

NBC is hoping this will Cause a violent incident on the boarder with the minute men so that then they portray them as Nazi's. The MSM has an agenda.
"Law & Order" is nothing more than a poorly written, ill-conceived vehicle for espousing the imbecilic nostrums of the unreconstructed left, and shoving politically correct-but intellectually bankrupt-canards down the public's throat.
Their take on the Minuteman is nothing more than a continuation of a policy they-along with most of rancid, contemptible Hollywood left-have abided by for years.
I care a lot more about what our manifestly incompetent U.S. Senate does with regard to subject of illegal immigration than how the vapid utterances of characters created by people like Wolf, or David E. Kelly or James L. Brooks-who can't even hack it in our country's dumbed-down cinema-might possibly influence the perceptions of viewers watching uninteresting, insipid "dramas" shown by the Big 3.
If people want to make a statement, then they should follow my lead and curb the boob tube, which earned that nick for a specific reason.

I don't agree. The Minutemen have been very disciplined, very careful not to violate any laws. The MSM has been waiting & waiting & waiting for the slightest incident so they can tar these retired vets, who are merely stepping up to help guard our borders during war-time. Minutemen ONLY observe, they never interfere. So, since there haven't *been* any indcidents, the media gave up and decided to run a "fictional" hit-piece. And the sad thing is that many Americans will buy into the fiction and not the reality. Thats why this is so wrong and why NBC must pay.
