Time for Republicans to learn the Chicago Way

What Republicans have to do to to protect major Republican leaders from the continuation of career assassination via opportunistic charges and prosecutions on the flimsiest of grounds is to follow the advice provided by Sean Connery’s Jim Malone to Kevin Costner’s Elliot Ness in Brian de Palma’s The Untouchables (1987):

Connery: lf you open the ball on these people, you must be prepared to go all the way. Because they won’t give up the fight until one of you is dead.

Costner: l want to get Capone. l don’t know how.

Connery: Here’s how you get Capone: he pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to hospital, you send one of his to the morgue! That’s the Chicago way! And that’s how you get Capone. Now, do you want to do that? Are you ready to do that?

The I-912 vote will be an interesting test to see if people retained the enthusiasm they showed in getting it onto the ballot. Fraudoire and her mania for more taxes are seen as legitimate by many, since the Republicans gave up so quickly in the face of obvious fraud.

The first small step would be for the Republicans in the House to drop the requirement that anyone who is indicted must step down until it is resolved.

If the media asks them why they are doing such an awful thing, their answer should be the truth: That the Democrats have no such rule, so why should they? That in America a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty. And that the only thing this misbegotten rule has accomplished is to issue an open invitation for Democrats to indict Republicans.

I think this is unfair. When have you EVER seen any losing R go HALF AS FAR as Rossi went? He followed the full protest procedeure and lost based on a technicality which showed up (even in the words of the judge who ruled against him) that the laws and processes are broken.

The Republicans play defense all of the time. The Democrats play offense. Wouldn't it be fun to switch that around?

I think we should just level the dems once and for all . . . the difference being is that our dirt is real. If MSM doesn't report it, then we bang the MSM. Remember Dan Rather? As Joan Crawford said in "Mommy Dearest": 'Don't f&ck with me fellas, this ain't my first time at the rodeo.'

Time to take out the klintons once in for all. dump all the dirt on them. same with moore. same with kerry. same with gore. same sheenan. let no Demihack be left untouched. expose their background. follow the money. destroy them so they couldn't get a job as dog catchers.

May the Lord have mercy, for I have none.

They tried that. Because we knew this was coming. The howls were deafening. Even from som on the right.

The phrasing of both posts is right on. It's up to those who wish to defeat the Democrats, not the White House, to take on the thugs of the left.

It's up to us.

Maybe the Right should
simply go directly to
suicide bombings . . .

The Lunatic Right
is so busy adopting
bin Laden thinking

that soon enough they
will promise "conservatives"
seventy virgins . . .

Isn't this a House rule - not a Republican rule? Even if it IS a Republican rule, what's wrong with it? If conservatives choose to make integrity and responsibility political issues (think Clinton and Bush's 2000 speech on this), then you need this rule.

Besides, DeLay is a slime doggy. Why defend him?
