David Gergen was questioned this morning during a CBS segment concerning the possibility of indictments to White House chief aide Karl Rove and Dick Cheney chief of staff Scooter Libby. The Early Show's Bill Plante mentioned that the White House is behaving like its business as usual. Gergen responded: Bill, I was in the Nixon White House during Watergate, and we pretended that we were all about business as usual. And we had a president who was talking to the portraits. It was not business as usual, but you have to say it.
Gergen later in the interview said: This is a presidency that has almost collapsed.

David Gergen's opinion on anything ain't worth a cuppa coffee.
If Gergen lived in RI, he'd be called Lincoln Chaffee.
Poor David, its time for you to get back to the home.
Who listens to him? Better question, why listen to him?
He hates the Bushes and gives RHINOS a bad name.
On the one hand, we have a third-rate burglary of a campaign headquarters. On the other? We have an illegal CIA operation undertaken during a time of war to discredit a sitting president.
I think I get what he's saying...
Not sure I understand why this is under breaking news?

Hey, take it easy on Gergen. For years he was as close to "balance" as PBS came.
Actually his opinion is worth less than a lukewarm cup of p!ss.
Is this the David Gergen who had the affair with former NY Met, Rusty Staub?
David Gergen is an exceedingly tedious, un-original, uninspired, BORRRRING, insufferable dork.
Oh, but it's got Katie Couric and Chrissie Mathews sporting wood.
These folks know what they're doing.
He is supposed to be a "straight shooter;" however, he has shot nothing but the reputations of people who have done nothing.
As for Gergen, he is clearly a self-serving person ready to jump wherever and to whomever appears to have power or about to have power.
Fitzgerald's charge was to determine whether Valerie Plame was illegally outed. If this is not the case then only a Tom Dewey wannabee would pursue vague charges of obstruction of justice, etc.
A final note on Gergen. He was the alleged Republican on the PBS news panel. I remember him being shocked, shocked and shocked again when Bush I referred in a moment of passion that Clinton was a "clown." It was shortly after the election that Gergen became so enamored of Clinton he joined his Administration.
Gergen looked and sounded ridiculous and eventualy was forced out by "real" liberals.
Huh?
Open the whole can on this one. This is a naked attempt by a faction of hyper partisans to undo an election result they do not like. People like the brain dead DG WILL be held to account for their willing participation in this. If this turns out to be much a do about nothing, we have several hides of certain Talking Heads that the Right simply must collect from their employers this time. It is one thing to be tough and partisan, it quite another to be openly participating in a transparent smear job.
David Gurgle has long been a duplicitous liar and a fraud.
