Do these people live in a vacuum? Is Mapes trying to get us to believe that she has no clue how much info you can get on the net, not the mention the experience and vast talents of those that use FR? What I really think is that she thought Normalville, America is really that stupid. She was actually surprised that individuals working together (the private sector) could outdo a "professional" journalist firm. SeeBS probably functions with more bureaucracy than a Governor's office.

Very enlightening. See-B-S was apparently so enthralled with these "Gotcha!" memos, they completely overlooked the fact that the memos were produced by word processing technology that did not exist until decades after the memos were suppossedly written. Then Ms. Mapes and her cohorts appear to be stunned and astounded by the speed at which this clumsy forgery attempt was exposed.

In fact, the GOP operatives had to be very careful in their dirty tricks operation: forging or counterfeiting official government documents is a felony.

I was told that the first posting claiming the documents were fakes had gone up on Free Republic before our broadcast was even off the air! How had the Web site even gotten copies of the documents? We hadn’t put them online until later. That first entry, posted by a longtime Republican political activist lawyer who used the name “Buckhead,” set the tone for what was to come.

You were also told those memos were legitimate. Given the fact-checking that went into a story that you put on the air on Sixty Minutes II, it doesn't surprise me that you didn't check your facts on this one as well, you imbecile.

Check the post times, you vomitous mass. Buckhead posted AFTER the airing of the report.
