Conservative School Choice people refuse to recognize that public funding of private religious schools has been here for many decades.

In Chicago they are called "alternative" schools. They are typically run by far left wing groups. There are so many of them because these far left groups cannot get along with each other. Thus private Puerto Rican schools loyal to Stalin split with those loyal to Mao, split with those loyal to Gorbie's Moscow line. Of course there were also moderately leftist schools run by groups like the YMCA and Aspira that were loyal to whomever funded them.

In the Uptown neighborhood they are also campaign organizations for Slim Coleman/Helen Schiller, etal. These schools are not only religious, but very hardline in their religion.
