It's become more and more apparent to me over the past five years that all the activism and non-violent protesting in the world will do precisely squat. When you're dealing with evil people who have no shame, the old rules of the game don't and, indeed, can't apply if you have any hope for success. Hundreds of thousands of people have marched, millions of letters have been written, tens of millions of votes cast, and hundreds of trillions of electrons expended pontificating on blogs...for nothing. Nothing has changed. Nothing will change. Not unless it comes in the form of something akin to the French Revolution.
We need terror. We need horror. We need the streets running awash in rivers of blood of these thugs and criminals and zealots. Activism didn't prevent 60,000 deaths in Vietnam. All the activism of the Civil Rights era has gotten African Americans precisely nowhere. Segregation may not be the law of the land anymore, but it's still the de facto state of America.
When y'all want to start throwing molotovs and sniping from windows come and talk to me. Until then, I will be content to retire, be a hermit, and laugh at everyone. Even then, I may still just feel like laughing as the world falls apart around me, but at least I'll be willing to listen.
My mental state is collapsing and deteriorating almost daily. It's so consistent you could practically graph it. My life is falling apart at an equally alarming rate, and yet I feel like doing nothing to salvage it. I feel like I'm standing at the bottom of one of the WTC towers, watching it come down on me, floor by floor, knowing I'll be blown to atoms, yet unable to move.

Maybe I'm older but I used to hear this stuff all the time as a college student. Robespierre/pol pot/Trotsky/and the rest of the gang are seen as a heroic figures in many quarters.
It's a symptom of a deeper malaise: severe envy; anger maybe against parental figures; sexual frustration; a sense of being taken for granted; and a lack of a spiritual anchor.
I can't wait. How many on their side are armed?

I prefer the peaceful revolution of the voting booth. However I don't think the writer accepts loss very well. That seems to be a big difference between conservatives and liberals.

As I recall it, one of the principle features of the French Revolution was the beheading of the elitists among the nobility ~ people like those who are affiliated with Daily Cos, and who engage the patronage of a multibillionaire like George soros.

That's obvious enough to us but by leftist standards, this beast may not be crazy at all; keeping in mind that the neo-romantic meme of passion over reason lies at the very heart of the leftist worldview.
From the leftist point of view, rooted as it is mass-media perceptions, mass violence has worked for the Islamic terrorists. Many must be thinking that it will work for the home-grown left as well. Leftist moonbats will have noticed that the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza did not result in concessions from the Islamofascists; quite the opposite in fact, and the world winks at this. Similarly, the savage terror bombings in Iraq have not resulted in a global wave of revulsion against the terrorists themselves. In fact, these bombings are treated in the MSM as a validation of the terrorists' continuing strength and of the alleged failure of American policy. In the UK, the main result of the 7-7 bombings has been the accelerated incorporation of Islamic superstition into a defacto censorship regime, as seen in the ban on Winnie the Pooh pig images in the workplace.
When (not if) certain elements of the far left resort to Islamic-style mass violence, it is imperative that the response be as coherent and logical as possible, as well as ruthless. This reasoned action would give loyalist forces an inherent advantage since the left must always act according to its fundamental neo-romantic belief in the primacy of emotion over reason. Violent leftists will therefore preferentially choose the less logical and more spectacular course. A logical response will highlight this.
Reprisals in kind are out of the question. Instead, the choice of target should be the result of a cold-blooded analysis of both the potential target's culpability and of its value to the enemy. If a leftist media-slave kills 60 or 100 innocents with a bomb in a shopping mall, it does not follow that someone should murder a mob of trustafarians or mumia cong in retaliation. The "incitement regime", the high-profile trend-setters and ideologues who justify and validate the left's use of terror, should, themselves, become primary targets.

Unfortunately, some very brainy (but entirely wrong) people on the left have lost it just like this guy. I don't know whether we should let the Democratic Party recover its senses, or do something to push more of them over the edge. Clarence Thomas as Chief Justice might have pushed a few more over the edge, but not enough to destroy the Democrat Party entirely. I guess we just need to wait and in 20 years or so the Democrat Party will be something we can tell our children about. "You know, that obscure little party used to be the majority party in the United States."
