Two things:
1) Congratulations to the school for standing on solid, moral, principle.
2) A BS article in that the liberal writer doesn't understand that the child can not have two parents of the same sex. The writer must understand that the child would not have been born with "parents" such as this.
We must remember to lover the sinner (all of us) but not endorse and/or condone the sin...
If you are running a Christian school, or any other Christian association, you should be able to control your membership. I don't condemn the girls, but I would not want my 16 year old daughter visiting their home...
And this girl may be lost to religion for the rest of her life. I'm all for a private institution making their own rules, but it's a sad situation.
So you can't see how students will be influenced seeing a fellow student(who they may be friends with and go to sleep overs, social functions, etc) with lesbian parents. Give me a break.
I swear, I wonder how many people who aren't advocating expelling the student would get out of a pool if they saw somebody else pee in it.
I don't understand what influence you are concerned about. The only I can think of is that they lesbians would attempt to seduce the daughter's friends, is that what you mean? Or is it that the kids will see that there are lesbian couples and be more inclined to see that as normal?
You were not specific.
Are you a Christian (a believer/follower of Christ)? I am.
I believe the Sciptures are the inspired Word of God. I agree with Paul, when he tells the Corinthian Church, to get rid of the cancer. In the first passage, he notes how proud they are of their acceptance of this man having relations with his daughter-in-law. He made quick note of their easy willingness to look over the sins. Then he condemns them for their attitude of non-chalance.
Then, he goes on to tell them to kick the sinner out, at once. Further, he chides them to keep away from that sort of garbage. It's Paul, not me...
The children will see consistency. They don't need to see tolerance.
My children never saw Santa Clause, and I didn't teach them to believe in him. I taught them about a baby Jesus, and we gave gifts to them, to celebrate Jesus' birthday. My kids never spoiled Christmas for their friends. They were taught consistency. We have never hunted eggs, either, but we have eaten a lot of chocolate.
God is very jealous of His people...
If you don't agree with Paul, then we surely are of a different "religion"...
OK, I can't so this anymore. How you come up with "seducing" out of the word influence I will never know.
I do not want to get into a theological discussion with you. I believe in my faith, which is not yours.
That's why I'm confused. I really am, I am not being rude.
You said there is an influence but I don't know what you mean by that. I was just throwing out what it MIGHT be. I don't necessarily disagree with you; I just don't understand your point.
Please, what is the lesbian parents' influence.
"...I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world."
Expelling the immoral applies to avowed Christians, NOT everyone, and certainly not people who are merely RELATED to the immoral people. Jesus' ancestors included prostitutes & incestuous relationships, after all.
These two dykes have used these innocent children to promote their agenda. The school just prevented them from using other people's children for the same purpose.
Oh God, just when I thought we could breathe easier because God's best friend FReeper "Bob Celeste",another Scripture quoting homophobe, seemed to finally be gone from this forum, here comes YOU with your holier-than-thou righteous Islamic form of "Christianity",
and you expect everyone to salute it. Take a hike.
Seriously, were you home schooled? Do you no longer remember the social structure of schools? When word would have got out that her parents would be lesbians that is exactly going to be known for. It will be mentioned often during her tenure of a school student. THERE IS NO GOOD THAT CAN COME OUT OF HER STAYING THERE. NONE. Not for the child, and not for the school.
Disagree with you, Bro. Grig. The school is entitled to have and enforce standards. The real villains are these two women.
Ugh, if you consider his root statemet as an "Islamic" form of Christianity it won't be long for anti-Christian bigots like yourself to throw us to lions.
There is a boy in my son's school with lesbian parents. He doesn't get teased. And another on another son's soccer team. The kids even care (and they are 14, so they understand.)
