Air America Ugliness: Bush family, including Laura (!), are "killers"
Newsbusters.org ^ | 5 September | InfoGuy

Pardon my naiveté, but I was unaware that the venom, nastiness, and malice spewed so rampantly and callously on Air America.

On Air America's Mike Malloy show on Friday night, September 2, 2005 (link to entire show audio (3 hrs.)), Malloy said this about our First Lady, Laura Bush (audiotape on file) (emphasis mine):

"A murderer herself. Somebody getting killed, one of her former boyfriends, in a drunken stupor, being behind the wheel of a car ... So here's Laura Bush, another killer. This Bush family. In order to get in the Bush family, it's like the way it used to be in order to get into certain gangs in Chicago. You had to kill somebody. And once you killed somebody, you're part of the gang. Well, Laura, Laura Bush is apparently that way. She murdered somebody in a car wreck, so she's in the gang. She's part of the gang."

In 1973, Laura Bush was in fact involved in a horrible accident in which the car she was driving caused the death of a friend. But there is zero evidence that any alcohol was involved. This snopes.com piece and this USA Today article are about the incident.

Malloy's remarks are just plain awful. But it should come as no surprise considering what he had said earlier in the show about the Bush family and the Bush administration:

"Thousands of examples of human suffering and tragedy [in the aftermath of Katrina] ... It was deliberate. I swear to Christ, it was deliberate ..."

"This Bush crime family is about theft and greed and fraud and lies and war and death and posturing. They are beyond evil."

If I wanted to be screamed at or listen to a manically deressed person for 3 hours, I'd call my ex-wife.

haha! Yah, he IS a little over the top... but that was my original point in this thread. Dr. Laura, Rush, Hannity, etc. are not being paid to be therapists or political pundits... they are first and foremost ENTERTAINERS. Mike Malloy is right there with them.

Really don't think it influences much of anyone not already committed to an ideology...

Mrs. Bush is on FOX just now. I was just again amaized at what a gracious lady she is. She's lovely.

Air-whatever is so envious of our leader and his wife that they just MUST hate them. They have nothing else.

You sound like the one with the ideology.

But I have always wondered. What would our reaction be if Hilary had the same experience in her past?

I think we would have heard about it incessantly from some quarters... makes for good radio.

There's a problem with getting "nasty" over talk radio.. the other side feels compelled and allowed to do the same. Talk show hosts see their audience increase with more controversial and provocative statements, so they'll make them, and after HRC was vilified for years, the rules now seem to be that first ladies are fair game to.

Personally, I think HRC WAS fair game... she was effectively a public official in the Clinton admin. But I really cringed hearing vitriol thrown at Chelsea - who had nothing to do with her circumstance. Now there is precedent for the innocent as well as the "guilty" to be excoriated over the air.

Here's another Chelsea Clinton snapshot for your memory. It makes her fair game for all criticism.

This guy is clearly an idiot. But I have always wondered. What would our reaction be if Hilary had the same experience in her past?

Maybe there would be some comments here, but can you imagine a Rush or a Sean saying anything like that? This Malloy guy is on the radio.

It's called "Free Speech."

What are you, twelve? BTW, by telling him to "ignore the idiots" you're attempting to suppress *his* free speech. Good lord.

The left is getting more and more frightening, and more and more treasonous. I am wondering at what point they will finally get what is coming to them? Some of them are really bordering on inciting violence against the President and his family. Since when is this not taken care of by law enforcement or the SS? I am serious.

Snerditis: This is probably one of the more insightful posts I've read on this blog. The only thing more ridiculous than an ENTERTAINER taking himself too seriously (Bill O'Reilly, for example), are listener who loose their footing as well, and take fiction as fact.

Most AAR hosts and avid listeners are sick, demented POS liberals. That sentence is the only one that I can get away with typing here.

Speaking of "twelve," I'm ignoring your free speech without suppressing it. See how easy that is?

I used to listen to him in Chicago. He is a very credible loony tune, nut-case kook. Completely out of his mind, delusional, paranoid, has plenty of liberal anger. He can be entertaining on rare occasions.
