It is exactly the behavior of young, misbehaved children.
Good post! ;)
Great Summary BTW.
Good post.
Holy cow! It's pouring outside and the thunder and lightning are going nuts. I'm blaming the Democrats.
I call them "Political LOOTERS" , they just can't resist grabbing anything that's loose.
Good job.
I'm not too worried about the impact of this in the long term. Sure, the Democrats will be able to yell loud and long about the alleged "failings" of the Bush Administration, employing their usual "big lie" strategy.
But once the facts start coming out (as this synopsis already reveals), their cynical partisan exploitation of this disaster will become readily apparent. Also apparent will be the way the Bush Administration is working through the crisis, overcoming the rank incompetancies being demonstrated at the state and local level in LA, without becoming bogged down in playing the blame game.
I think the administration should get the word out in press conferences about the real truth and the real reasons things took time. The president has never been good at defending his position and it is crucial he becomes more active in pointing out the lies of the left press. The White house needs to hammer these punks before this gets more out of hand than it already has become. The administration has allowed this feeding frenzy to continue and they should kill it now. This is my only complaint with the way the President has handled this disaster.
You would think that the looney-tunes lefties would have learned by now. Every time they go at W he winds up pulling the rug out from under them. The best analogy is that of the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote. The Democrats are buying a lot of stuff from Acme, but it's not doing them any good.
There won't be an investigation.
The Dems will see to that.
And backed up with facts!
Nice job!
On spot Taz, very good.
Here is the hurricane plan for New Orleans, a nice laundry list of what they should have done. Notice it says they would need three days to evacuate. And yes the school buses were the way they planned to do it. When Katrina headed to New Orleans they had the time. Did nothing. Don't forget Bush issued a state of emergency directive on Saturday, so the Governor could call up the feds for help. The call didn't come. I just saw Gov Blanco on the TV, she said she doesn't know where to put the evacuees.
Moral of the story, don't hire a Democrat for any important job.
Bump!!!
Ms.B
Great post! And you're right--it's a win-win situation for the Reps and especially for the President--who needs it.
Everyone's blaming him now. But in a surprise move, he calls for an investigation ... shocking the blamers ... the truth comes out and we find out that it wasn't President Bush's fault after all, now was it...
(that's not to say that there might not be a few problems in terms of coordinating the feds and locals after a catastrophe--I was quite upset, too about these thirsty, abandoned people, but perhaps other states are better at having plans in place and getting needed help? As so many have pointed out, just look at NYC after 9/11.)
In any case, it would be fantastic to have a report exonerating the president (which it will, obviously, especially considering the structure of the U.S. federal system), after hearing rappers, reporters, you name it, slam him personally.
So what were they (local politicians) just lazy, or WHAT?!
BTTT! I'll read it in a few!!
