During Fox News coverage of Hurricane Katrina this afternoon, a man being interviewed by Shepard Smith dropped the F-word bomb on the reporter.

Or like most people that don't want to be bothered by news reporters or have a mike stuck in their face. I realize this may be a foreign idea to some (especially publicity hounds I've seen that practically drool to be interviewed at protest events) but not all of us like the media, or want to share our thoughts with the media on every little thing.
Who knows why the man didn't leave? Maybe he couldn't afford to? Either way, unless I were approached off the air and asked politely if I would like to share my thoughts, I would have said the same thing. Although considering Shep's smarmy remark immediately after I may have punched the poofter and left him in the middle of the street as well
It's where the TV cameras are, silly. ;-)
I managed to see both of these incidents, live.
I need to get a vidclip of this one, for posterity. Have one from the J-Lo faux paus.
No effin way...
So I guess they were supposed to know the F-bomb was coming up so they could have turned the TV off?
Who knows why the man didn't leave? Why..., I think he didn't leave because....he wanted to walk his effin' dog! Yeah. "Get that effin' microphone outta my face! Hurricane or no hurricane - dog's gotta poop!"
I don't care whether you hate the media elites or not. Shep asked a harmless question which, under the current circumstance, was hard to answer because the interviewee was a dumbarse. Then again, maybe the interviewee was wearing ruby red slippers. No worries. When the hurricane reaches shore all he has to do is click his heels.
I heard it yesterday when it happened and about busted a gut laughing. Shep was pure, unadulterated comic relief yesterday, at least till the Melodrama Queen himself, Geraldo, came on the air last night.
Bill Cosby said in a comedy routine, "In the event of an accident, first you say sh#t, then you actually do it [in your pants]"
The F-bomb is not as offensive as 19 hijackers blowing up the Twin Towers and FNC, CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC not showing the event every year as a memorial of why we fight. Now that's f*cking offensive!
Yes, heaven forbid the media show any courtesy to the interviewee. Why we should all just be glad some talking head sticks a mike in our faces and wants to know our opinion on whatever the media happen to be covering.
What happened to the days when media would ask, 'Do you mind if I ask you some questions?' How hard would that have been? How hard would it have been for him to line up a few folks before they come to him live. Heck, if Geraldo had some lined up for his live spots. And of course on the stations that weren't doing their best to scare the bejesus out of every watcher (like CNN and MSNBC) they had the same courtesy for their interviewees. But little Shepard Smith forgoes simple etiquette, gets his hand smacked by a man walking a dog, and it's the man's fault for not stopping to talk to a newscaster that wears more mascara than my girlfriend.
Not everyone is like idiot protestors, anti-protestors, and drunk college kids at a football game wanting to get their face on the screen as if it's the pinnacle after a long career standing on a street corner holding signs. The man wanted to be left alone, Smith showed no courtesy, and the man responded like any normal individual would
What was Shep trying to take the last Oyster from the happy hour tray?
I think the guy just recognized who Shep was.
Fox is despised by the left on principle.
I'll concede the point about asking permission first. The F-bomb wasn't necessary.
LOL! It seems this type of stuff always happens to Shep.

Thanks for the ping!
I saw this. Shepard Smith and Fox had more class than the jerk who was walking his dog and drinking beer with a class 5 hurricane getting ready to pounce on them. He probably thought this would get him on TV.
I heard it "live" yesterday and I thought, big deal.
Also, Smith was in a BAR, questioning random, unscreened BAR PATRONS who'd been there ALL EVENING (reportedly) DRINKING so whattheheck did anyone expect a DRUNKEN BAR PATRON to say?
I think the issue's gotten far too much notice. I can't see what the big deal here is...a live broadcast from a bar under duress by people with nothing left to lose and a lot of alcohol...people should be surprised that something worse than the "f" word was said.
Better yet, never do a storm coverage manonthestreet Q&A in a bar. I'd appreciate that.
Now that would be a challenge for the "live" editors.
