"rumors in the air about an impending massive terrorist campaign"

Hi,

As the dialogue between the different political blocks intensify concerning the Constitution and the noticeable shift in the Sunni mood towards the political process; the real enemy: Hard core Saddamists, Foreign Al-Qaeda type terrorists and the criminal local Mafia; are getting really desperate. There are rumors in the air about an impending massive terrorist campaign – massive number of car bomb attacks, mortar attacks, and sabotage of the basic services, water, electricity etc.

This threat of possible escalation must be taken seriously; because in the present situation on the ground it is not difficult to carry out, if the enemy decides to concentrate all his forces for one massive short campaign. Although we don’t like to compare with Vietnam but it is Tet-Offensive style of thinking.

Therefore, urgent pre-emptive and exceptional defensive measures must be urgently considered. These measures must include some of the ideas that I suggested in earlier posts. For instance, controlling vehicles has proved its efficacy in the past, and still this matter is not given sufficient attention. It will not do just to sit and wait for the enemy to strike; therefore a pre-emptive campaign is called for right now to deny him initiative.

This is a warning to whom it may concern.

Not sure of the spelling, but it's ramadon or some such. They fast for a month.

I just wondered about which month it was in. I like the rammalammadingdong name best.

It has to do with the lunar calander. Thin crescent moon at dawn with Venus nearby. (star and crescent) Usually in early Sept. IIRC

I believe it will be in October this year. The last Ramadan I was in (Nov last year) was like TET in away. They attacked the hotel our company had us living in five times between end of Nov and end of Dec. We were expecting them to hit us New Years Eve and we were all on the perimeter and roof of the hotel. They blew up a restaurant favored by foreigners, with a car bomb, a couple blocks away.

This looks to be worse our guys will be seeing a lot of action this year with Ramadan, the sectarian fighting and the politicians trying to put their government together.

Will it be President Bushs fault, or Pat Robertsons?

Ramadan starts on Oct 4 this year and ends in early November. It moves forward, I "think" about 40 days each year. It has to do with the 9th month of the muslim calender.

Thanks.
Now that I got off my duff and checked my "Stargazer's Almanac" I find that it is Mercury, not Venus that will be in conjunction with the waxing crescent moon. However, I'm not so sure about that 40 day movement. Ramadan (I think) usually comes in the fall. Let me check further.

Waxing should be waning. (getting tired) Also it has to do with the visibility of the crescent, not just it's presence in the sky. Still looking for info on that 40 day thing.

Ramadan: Al Ramad, means the first rain after the hot season. The end of summer and the start of fall.
Can't give you the math on this yet but the 40 day thing ain't so. Got this off a religious site. (If you consider islam a religion)
Oct 4 is the start this year however.
The crescent should be visible with Mercury nearby at this time at dusk.

Zawahiri did mention taking out 10,000 Iraqis soon in his last video.
