I actually felt myself become a republican today. It was around 10am, when I read the latest update of the Cindy Sheehan saga in CNN.com. I then shot over to read some blogs about it, and perused the comments in some of them, which was nothing but a long series of petty (albeit entertaining) partisan bickering.
Then it happend. The good little democrat in me tied the little noose around his neck and jumped off the stool. He just couldnt take it anymore.
Take what? The whining. The constant whining by the extreme left about the reasons for war, the incompetence of this administration, and how weve all been lied to, and how we should pull out of Iraq immediately, because, *gulp* our soldiers were in danger.
Guess what folks .they signed up to join the Army, not the boy scouts. Anytime your orientation to a new job involves an automatic weapon, you should be smart enough to figure out theres danger involved. I actually read some peoples comments about many of the soldiers over there being naive .they werent expecting to go to war, so, they should be allowed to go home. Wow.
Soldiers know, when they enlist, that it is entirely possible they will be shipped out and never come home. Its part of the job. The fact that people still walk in to recruiters offices and sign that piece of paper make them heroes. To imply that they are simple kids who didnt know what they were getting into, or even worse, that they died for no reason, or an immoral reason, does a horrible thing. It strips their sacrifice of the honor that it deserves...

Great post.
Well, I just heard Rush read the entire article on the air. HE thought it important. He might have even found it here. :)
Is this the blog that Rush just mentioned?
Probably the majority of the soldiers (not the career guys/gals) in the service now enlisted AFTER 9/11 and must have been fully aware that they go to war.
Yes. He just read the whole thing.
Seems Cindy's Peace Train is derailing
Off topic
But those poll numbers that Rush was talking about
Do you know where he got them from?
Welcome to the real world. It isn't as comforting as the delusions, but it allows, often demands, real thought.
I miss hearing him talk about it.
I mean I missED hearing him talk about it.
But, it is, theres nothing we can do about it, except for doing everything we can to offer support and hope to the folks fighting over there. Arguing and whining about the reasons were there, and the need to come home not only kills morale, but it is a complete waste of time.
Word. The hard left tries to distill the debate over the war into sound bites - "Bush lied!" - instead of trying to figure out how we finish the job. It is more important for them to impeach Bush than it is to win in Iraq. Bill Clinton got impeached, and dagnamit, they want Bush impeached too, the consequences to this country be damned. They don't care that their constant efforts to undermine Bush also give the insurgents hope that they can win this war politically. They just want their vengence.

Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
"...and how weve all been lied to"
The left loves some lies.
They didn't demand CBS fire the 60 Minutes or Nightly News staff.
They didn't demand that MTV and other stop lying about "Bush's draft" when the ONLY legislation in the House and Senate was authored by leftist Democrats (who largely refused to vote for their own legislation when it was put to a vote).
When I see them out in the streets demanding non-biased journalists, I will listen to their thoughts on the administration and the war.
It is quite clear that there have been outright lies in the media. Fabricated documented.
