A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on law enforcement authorities to treat an assault this morning on a Virginia Muslim woman as a hate crime.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported that a 23-year-old Muslim woman, who is 8 months pregnant and wears and Islamic head scarf, said she was out for her morning walk in Arlington, Va., when three white men in a pick-up truck began screaming anti-Muslim and racist slurs at her. According to the victim, the men shouted, "You terrorist b- tch, go back to your country. . .You n-gger b-tch." (The woman is African-American.)
The truck drove away and then returned as the woman continued on her walk. One of the men, who was wearing military-style clothing, allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shoving the woman and preventing her from moving away. During the assault, he shouted, "You terrorist b-tch. . . We're going to kick you're a- s. . . you're nothing." The other men then called the attacker back to the truck and it sped off.
"We believe these types of incidents are the direct result of the growing level of virulent anti-Muslim rhetoric Americans are exposed to on the Internet, in newspaper editorial pages and on radio talk shows," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Our nation's political and religious leaders must begin to challenge Islamophobic hate-mongers."

There is another issue here, too. By calling for declaration of a hate crime, the CAIR spokesman is calling for declaration of this as a Federal offense. In this way they are leading toward their strength, which is in the national and international arenas and away from individual state and local police authority. World gov't is their goal, and they believe they can dominate world gov't.
It will still get you much scorn, even in this post 9/11 world, by mainstream Americans. And rightfully so.
Of course, thats what I said in the first place. But to stir up the nest a bit, I'll go on and say that even if all he did was yell at her and make her feel threatened, he still deserves to get his ass kicked..
Interning Americans of Japanese descent during WWII is one of the great shames of this country.

I don't know the present status, but it was debated in the Senate. I view it as a takeover of some more police powers by FedGov. Some states have added hatecrime to their body of law, which somewhat blunts the Fed initiative.

That's the point no one knows. But they're here, and we know what they have been taught. But, who do you arrest? Their own islamic community won't give them up. That makes the muslims complicit. 9/11 happened and the only arrest was the 20th hijacker. Do you even for 1 second believe and operation of that magnitude could happen with just 20 people involved? But there are no leaks from the islamic community. They are islamic first and foremost.

You're in denial. There are cities in this country that sound the call to prayer 5 times a day. In Michigan and Washington state for sure, I don't know where else. I work with an Indian gentleman, (from India not native American). He has a strong dislike for muslims. This gentleman is Hindu and very much a likable, gentle soul. But he has seen in India what happens. Roughly 25 years ago, India was 5% muslim. muslims came to India and reproduced at a huge rate, and continued to immigrate from Pakistan. muslims that leave Pakistan for India can't go back. Well, they can, but they'd be treated as second class citizens. So, they stay in India and cause friction, as muslims do everywhere. Oh, and India is now roughly 20% muslim.
What is the percentage of muslims in France, or should I say francistan?
Of course, expecting a backbone in a metrosexual is kind of like expecting snow in July.
But that's not really relevant: the problem is that it is your statements, not mine, that are morally unsupportable.
For example: "over time we imagine that it was the ideals alone which created the culture."
It was adherence to the ideals that created the culture, and it is the gradual casting off of those ideals that has caused our culture to head toward decadence. Your helpful suggestions for deliberately abandoning the ideals of individual liberty would merely hasten the decline.
Appeasers, you keep looking for the good in islam and the rest of us will just protect ourselves from it. Fair enough?
I don't think they'll survive in any western country.
Do not presume to tell others what shames them- lest you want to hear how shameful I consider it to give the enemy the benefit of the doubt in a time of war.
How many attacks by Japanese Americans were there in this country during WW2? We'll never know how much death and destruction internment prevented.
And interment ended when the war did- and the Constitution survived. We did the right thing to protect ourselves.
I hope we have the guts to do it again.
