Pregnant Woman in Islamic Dress Assaulted, Called 'Terrorist B-tch' (CAIR promotional press release)
U.S. Newswire ^ | 8/9/05

Posted on 08/09/2005 10:17:46 AM PDT by Crackingham

A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on law enforcement authorities to treat an assault this morning on a Virginia Muslim woman as a hate crime.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported that a 23-year-old Muslim woman, who is 8 months pregnant and wears and Islamic head scarf, said she was out for her morning walk in Arlington, Va., when three white men in a pick-up truck began screaming anti-Muslim and racist slurs at her. According to the victim, the men shouted, "You terrorist b- tch, go back to your country. . .You n-gger b-tch." (The woman is African-American.)

The truck drove away and then returned as the woman continued on her walk. One of the men, who was wearing military-style clothing, allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shoving the woman and preventing her from moving away. During the assault, he shouted, "You terrorist b-tch. . . We're going to kick you're a- s. . . you're nothing." The other men then called the attacker back to the truck and it sped off.

"We believe these types of incidents are the direct result of the growing level of virulent anti-Muslim rhetoric Americans are exposed to on the Internet, in newspaper editorial pages and on radio talk shows," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Our nation's political and religious leaders must begin to challenge Islamophobic hate-mongers."

Was that what you had in mind?

As a matter of fact, it's precisely what I had in mind.

It points out perfectly that the folks who are calling for the boycotting and expulsion of Muslims from this country, are absolutely no different from the nice folks they claim to be against.

Isn't irony a wonderful thing?

This is wrong no matter whatever faith this woman subscribes to. If it were a Christian woman in the story and she was being harrassed by muslims. I'm sure that the people here would not be asking for the same standard of evidence before showing a modicum of human concern over the issue.

Any press release from US Newswire or PR Newswire without independent confirmation should be immediately suspected of being bogus pending a reliable source chiming in.

Almost like the ubiquitous "two black men" blamed for everything, when someone is trying to cover their own tracks?

I believe that's "some Puerto Rican guy".

Hey, they can talk all they want, but this is way over the bounds, IF it is true.

The biggest murders are dead, but oddly enough, all of the 9/11 hijackers were islamic. But then, you'd say that's simply coincidence.

Not a coincidence. It's the old logical fallacy: All rottweillers are dogs, but not all dogs are rottweillers. That's simply the point I'm trying to get across.

(But to answer the question, it may be more than you think. Do you know how many immigrants may or may not have participated in the long list of terrorist activities?)

I don't know. The ones that did should be arrested.

I assume that if called, most will kill infidels to the glory of allah in whatever fashion dictated by their imam.

That's not even remotely true in a place like Iran, where the imams constantly demand "Death to America."

You can preach tolerance and love for all and all those great sounding things.

That is not what I'm proposing. That is simply a strawman.

And if there are enough people like you, people like me will be negated.

Hopefully.

And then, you can be sure to get your prayer rug and enjoy your call to prayer 5 times a day. Because if you don't, you'll be dead

You're out of touch with reality. Muslims make up a small percentage in America. They will almost certainly never have the power to make anyone in this country convert to Islam.

"You really should be nominated for dumbest post of the week."

Wow, do you work for the MSM?! Hugoball's post was well written and explained his position quite well. Clearly you disagree, but rather than confront the substance, you pick out one quote, take it out of context and attempt to trash him on that basis.
You are thrashing desperately, is it because you are islamic, or are you really that dim?

Unfortunately, even THAT would only make the headlines for a month and then the "easily bored" in this country would go back to watching reality television.

Oh I see, were now trying to live under the French law that if you or any one finds it offensive it is offensive.

For cryin' out loud, OKIEDOC: please read the article so that you will perhaps stop saying stupid things.

In the article you will find a claim that the nice gentlemen not only yelled at her, but actually shoved her and prevented her from going on her way. That is not "free speech," and it not "being offensive," it is "assault."

Again: I grant that the claim itself is suspicious, and probably false.

But that is no excuse for you to continue in your obvious ignorance of what is actually written in the article.

Every time I see that photo, it is as disturbing as the very first time.

God bless the victims and families of 9-11.

A question for you mothers out there. How many of you went on morning walks when you were 8 months along?

Not a mother myself, but Mrs. kevkrom was taking daily walks (weather permitting) up until delivery at 38 weeks with our son born in April.

Hugoball's post was well written and explained his position quite well.

Sure. But I still consider this to be one of the stupidest posts I've seen in a while:

I suppose I am somewhat cheered by these drunken rednecks who can't think of any other way to express their displeasure at an alien (and dangerous) cult than to harass a woman.

You are thrashing desperately, is it because you are islamic, or are you really that dim?

You, my friend, are the one thrashing around in your ignorance and anger. You are the one proposing that we treat Muslims as members of a group, rather than as individuals. You are proposing that America go down a very dark road.

"An excellent point. And yet there are those on this thread who apparently advocate acting Just Like Them. Clever!"

In a war, you kill or be killed. If you take the action of killing, and place it in a vaccuum, (no context), then it is a completely objectionable act.

Saudi Arabia expels Christians because they are Christians. islam sees the mere existance of non muslims as a threat. They openly call Jews the sons of monkeys and pigs.

Those of us who would like to see muslims exported en masse would have never dreamed of saying such a thing pre 9/11. In fact, professing such a thing pre 9/11 would have gotten a person much scorn. But things have changed. Things change in a war.

Some people just don't have the guts to acknowledge reality.

Some people just don't have the guts to acknowledge reality.

When "having guts" becomes synonymous with "acting like the enemy," then our country is lost.

I guess we two are bigots, then?
Well- as a female I'd prefer bigotry to a burkha- and it does come down to that.
We're talking to people here who INSIST on separating individual Muslims from the core and commands of Islam. Those 'good Muslims' themselves refuse to do that!
REGARDLESS of what diplomacy dictates, this IS a war against Islam. Without Islam there is no war- it is the engine driving terrorism- the Koran is the guidebook. It's the inability- or refusal- to accept that that is at the core of PERSONAL ATTACKS( against the board rules, BTW) of bigotry.
I wear a crucifix- and I expect people to profile me by what that implies- they have a right to assume certain things about me because of that symbol. I know Muslims will hate me because of it- and I want them to know what I am.
A cross- you're Christian, a crucifix- you're Catholic, a Star of David, you're Jewish, etc, etc. A DNC card, you're a Democrat- and don't we consider that a bad word here?
So it's ok to revile Democrats for their political beliefs and liberalism( which hurts society) but not OK to profile Muslims the same way? At least all Democrats don't worship a book by the DNC that says all non-Democrats should die!
The headrags, the mosques, the weird yodeling with their asses in the air, all say ISLAM- and the LAWS of Islam say it must rule all; that I must submit or die.
IMAGINE! I take personal offense at that! I feel threatened, silly of me to have such an overdeveloped sense of self-preservation.
But about that word 'bigot' again. It doesn't bother me- like Muslims, I define things my own way-and 'bigot' to me means prejudiced- and that is a good thing!

If I were black and I saw a white robed and hooded man walking down the street- would I have the right to feel threatened? His outward appearance says ' Klan', and its telling me he believes in that ideaology. The Klan brutally murdered blacks. Did he, personally? Should I care and assume he likes me just fine? He knows what the world thinks of the Klan- and especially what blacks think of it- when he wears the white hood. The history is established and he is outwardly identifying with it. Same with that moron, Duke. HIS followers are forever vilified ( rightfully) for identifying with him- why not Mohammeds?
Do we demand black people be alright with the existence of Klansmen as long as they don't personally attack them? Do we expect Jews to accept Nazi skinheads just because they don't, personally, have any large ovens?
But Muslims MUST be exempt from this reasoning, according to some. Why SHOULDN'T Muslims be judged by what they believe? Everyone else is.

If you identify with Evil- I WILL JUDGE YOU as evil. Live by the death-cult, be judged by the death-cult!
You have my support, brownsfan!

I guess you are a bigot, if you decide that the merits of the individual are unimportant.
