Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up? It doesn't come up when discussing calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline. Why?

Because God creates. Man doesn't "create". Man uses to "create" what God already gave to us for a resource. Calculus is just a measuring tool - it is not an explanation of how the earth started or life.
Christianity is a religion and so is atheism and that is part of the underlying argument - on creation. ONLY God creates.

That argument has already happened. Read some Aquinas.

Not "always." Only when evolution is discussed by people who don't understand the theory and the overwhelming evidence for it, but who do have a religion-based opposing view.

Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up? It doesn't come up when discussing calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline. Why?Because Evos believe LIFE just happens by chance and the RIGHT circumstances. From evidence evos observe they concluded that life came into existance and progresses a certain way as a scientific theory. Creationist believe GOD creates life.
God enters into the debate because evolution is not FACT.

Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up? It doesn't come up when discussing calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline. Why?Well, it does come up in a branch of astrophysics, cosmology, and for the same reason. Evolution and cosmology reach conclusions that conflict with certain specific statements in the Bible, and a subset of Christians find this unacceptable.

Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up?Usually creationists bring it up in response to evolution. In the case of the article posted here, creationism is mention in the author's original "Darwin and Design: The Evolution of a Flawed Debate," which you can find at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1441800/posts

Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up? It doesn't come up when discussing calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline. Why? It comes up every time there is a thread that touches on geology, physics, or astronomy. It comes up on threads devoted to the Mars probes. The true believer finds opposition to God in every nook and cranny of science.
It is interesting that Darwin used his observations of the rate of biological change and came up with an estimate for the age of the earth that was much more accurate than what physics provided at the time.

Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up? It doesn't come up when discussing calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline. It does. The anti-evo crowd assumes you know that these other disciplines are part of the "study of evolution".

Why is it when evolution is discussed, the subject of God always comes up? It doesn't come up when discussing calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline. Why? Good question. You could say it's biblical literalism, and a concern with human uniqueness. Those are both probably part of it, but it's not that simple.
For instance, as I've pointed out several times, the Bible affirms in many passages that God is intimately, personally and directly involved in the creation of individual humans; not just the species, and not just Adam and Eve. This includes "forming" and "shaping" the "inward parts" of humans in the womb, and "knitting them together of bone and sinew". (Excuse possibly not exact quotes from memory.) Yet you never, ever hear a fundamentalist complain about human embryology being taught as a strictly naturalistic discipline.

Because the God Squad doesn't blindly and ignorantly attack calculus, geology, astrophysics, or any other scientific discipline.
