"I will pay to spend 7 nights in a hotel built on property seized from David H. Souter but only if 10 other people will too."

— Travis J I Corcoran, liberty lover

Deadline: 29th August 2005. 414 people have signed up (404 over target)

More details On 23 June 2005, Supreme Court justices Stevens Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg, Breyer, and Kennedy decided, in the "Kelo et al. v. City Of New London et al." that local governments may seize property from one property holder and transfer it to a private citizen or firm, if the new use would "promote economic development".

Justices O'Connor, Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas dissented.

Great for the business plan, and the ED action, both. Plus makes it easy to get financing.

Actually, the credit for the name belongs to Fierce Allegiance.

It's been a long time.
Good to see you. ;o)

I didn't post so much in the last year or so--been busy at work--but I did check FR regularly and will continue to do so, especially now that I'm maintaining a ping list. I hope I can ping you with good news many times in the coming months! :-)

Loved the idea when I first heard it on Rush, yesterday (Wed).

And after a bit more thought?

... I love it even more, today. ;^)

"One o' them silver linings in an otherwise very dark time?"

Yup, *bingo*.
Here have a ceegar, my friend. ;^)

Just once (before I cack) it'd be wonderful seeing one -- preferably all -- of the robed morons get the shaft visa vi their own asinine ruling(s) & this idea would accomplish just that.

...quite nicely.
