I won't vote for Hitlery but I really hope for a republican other than McCain. I don't see much difference between them.
I'm sure there are lots of reasons why Bush appears to turn a deaf ear on this issue. But, so do the Senators here in TX. I don't like the rumor that it's big business in bed with the wealthy. It's a bad rap for the party.

You got it right on all counts. If governments had to cope with the issues of their own starving citizen's instead of handing them off to the US tax payer there would be widespread change all over South America including Colombia. Colombia needs Colombian Doctors, Engineers and sundry Professionals more than custodial service companies in the US do.
When a country controls its borders and sets requirements for immigration, there is no such thing as "illegal immigration". There is only immigration or invasion. Immigrants comply with law and immigrate. Illegal aliens do not comply with law and invade.

Don't you remember that nominees for both the Clinton and Bush Cabinets had to be withdrawn because they had hired illegal immigrants?
There are probably half as many Americans who hire illegal immigrants as there are illegal immigrants? Those that hire the illegals donate to political campaigns. Those opposed mostly play to the media. They do things like the minutemen ploy... created to be a media event. That does not work.
The anti immigration people thinks the media has clout. They don't as this issue proves.

That is sure not what I meant, what was said in the deleted post 17, but the response in that post sounds a lot like the flippant remark by Vincente Fox a couple weeks ago. Characterizing an entire group like that is not reasonable and certainly not fair.
There are only two currencies that politicians take. One is votes, the other is money.
The NRA and AARP have clout because they have members that vote a certain way. People with a common agenda have clout when they donate to candidates. Donating to a losing candidate has no value. You have to donate to a wining candidate. Offering group support to a losing candidate has no value.
A group had to organize and then give support to a winning candidate... either in money, votes or both.
If media support elected people, President Kerry would be telling us all about it.
Zogby points out in his statement that 81% of Americans
want the government to deport ILLEGAL aliens. Presumably
among the other 19% is George Bush. In fact, Zogby's in
line with most other polls when he refers to illegals.
How on earth do you think people get voted out of office?
They were at one time big winners, then the peoples idea of what was wanted or needed changed with the times and s/he found found out about climbing back to the top and what a bitch that can be.
Some guy that the people thought could do a better job replaced them even though they had all their connections and power in place.
Changing a persons mind who is in office is next to impossible. That is why we vote for the little guy!
