What’s Wrong With Ohio (Republicans)

Wednesday in the Senate, George Voinovich broke down in tears. Tears. He broke down in tears over the upcoming vote on John Bolton for U.N. Ambassador.
Tuesday Ohio Senator Mike Dewine joined the usual north eastern liberal Republicans plus John McCain, Lindsay Graham, and John Warner in thwarting Majority Leader Frists implementation of the constitution option to end the filibuster of judicial nomination.
Coming in the next few weeks the new budget for the state of Ohio, which will include making half of the temporary sales tax increase permanent, will be passed by the Republican dominated legislature and supported by Republican governor Taft.
With Republicans like these, what do we need Democrats for? It seems the elected Republicans in Ohio do a good enough job of undercutting the president and raising taxes.

Ohio's statewide offices in the executive branch are all elected Republicans. Some "redder" states can not say that.
While Ohio is a close state in presidential years, it doesn't seem nearly as close in off-years, not by a long shot, so why the RINOism?

That is just extremely gay. And I cry at the drop of a hat.

I can't figure that out either. Taft especially REALLY sucks.
Hopefully Ken Blackwell will clean house.

From the media clips I've seen since the seven dwarves sold out, the libs are terrified that the vicious right wing will throw the bums out. That would put the fear of God into the rest of the Republican weenies, which thought distresses the MSM to no end. So, we need to keep up the pressure and if one of these turn-coats is from our state, we make very sure that our attention span is very long in this matter and that we do not forgive and forget by election day.

I was wondering the same thing. The Ohio GOP is setting itself for a third-party situation.

I suspect Voinovich gets paid from the UN somehow, or they have the good on him.

In principle I think third parties are a bad idea. Not that I haven't voted that way in a statewide race before, because I have. We need primaries and a conservative takeover of the Republican Party.
Best place to start are with supporting Ken Blackwell for governor and also see my tagline.

In principle I think third parties are a bad idea. Ditto that which is why the lack of commonsense among the Ohio senators bothers.

Dry it up candy ass. Something that seems to have been overlooked during this whole mess is that Voinovich didnt show up at any of the hearings before he broad-sided Sen. Lugar and the rest of the Republicans on the committee. Water under the bridge now I suppose.

As governor, Voinovich wasn't like this. I don't get him anymore at all. I have never seen such emotion from him.

I'm madder than a hornet at Voinovich, and perplexed that he's acting so WEIRD.
I'm mad at DeWine too, and we've let them both know......repeatedly
BUT.........it is still preferable to have these wimps than having RATS as Senators. 80% support is better than none.
(Why, in heaven's name was he crying, anyway???)
