It is time that someone went nuclear on a few Freepers around here. When I joined FR back in 1998, we use to kick asses and take names, but now I feel like I am on the internet's version of the UN in some ways, talking about bolting and losingn in Washington. I am seeing post from people who are whining about an AP piece on Frist striking a deal with Reid on our stalled conservative nominees, rather than whine, why are we not using our tools to express our anger Rush, Hannity, Liddy, FoxNews and so forth. I have been in these Congressperson's offices and they do listen. We should not be expressing our on FR but get out there and phone, fax and email them and be ready to combat groups like MoveOn.
Sorry for the rant but it is time for some tough love around here and a reminder of how we use to fight these clowns tooth and nail. Rove said no deal and lets back him and the President up.
Great idea. Maybe we need a "Let's Roll" committee to ping others with mission/target/objective.
Remember the old days, TBM, when there was a FReep a week somewhere in the country? And how many new activist groups spun off of FR by the relationships that were made online. FR is more like a big whiner board now, not that some good never comes of it. And FReepers taking jabs at other FReepers while the real enemy is out THERE. I'd love to see us become activists again. Having control of the government (for what its worth) is no time to sleep.
Networking like we use to do back here in the day would be our best bet.
Find some active Freepers (web-wise) that you know and respect from each state/region you can.
MAKE THEM become heads of ping lists for activism and opportunities.
At the very least, those who can't get out can make those who can more aware.
Ping anyone you know well with this idea. Lets see if we can't get some fires going again!
Don't know how that used to work. I'm a youngen' compared to some here.
Experience would be helpful in getting it going again.
I agree we need to get active again and a "Let's Roll Committee" is the best idea going, Buckhead showed us not too long ago how it is done and we need to get back to basics once again.
I have been calling & urging my extensive email list and fellow Freepers to CALL Frist, Santorium, McCain, Spector, Chafee, etc.
Here's a FREE Number to the US Capitol Switchboard to ask for any Senator's office: 1-877-762-8762
We use to get out there and protest the liberals, call, fax and email Congressional officies, call talkshows and give the liberals hell.
Now that is what I am talking about, kicking it old school Freeper Style and for those of you at work like me, email them officies from your MSN, Yahoo or Excite Accounts, let us be heard in one united voice.
Well Said!
I just freepmailed post #43 to my Celtic ping list (and some others) and added the number to the switchboard to my profile.
Just saying what I felt needed to be said and let's show Rove support as well.
AMEN!
TBM......old style FREEPing is what we need.
I even remember handwriting a letter to each Senator about why Clinton was impeached and should be removed. (They didn't vote to remove him but he's impeached forever!)
We all worked hard in 1998/99 and got results!
MacDorcha .....Good idea!...will try to put that phone number in #43 on my page also.
Thanks for the phone number for the US Senators - I got through to my senator Johnny Isakson's office within a minute. For what it's worth.
The Frist phone is busy buzz buzz, Good work everybody.
(I already faxed him last pm)
O2
Remember to call your local talkshows and get that number out there, believe me there are other listening who don't know about what we are doing here on FR.
See that is funky old school freepering and that number on to your friends and family.
