Slowed down from one new post a day to one a week?
I've visited Lucianne.com only when FR was down.
I was banned just before the 2004 elections for asking about other posters, who, it turned out, had been banned. No bitterness on my side - I landed softly at Free Republic! I haven't checked Lucianne's site in quite some time though. So am not really qualified to answer your question.
I used to check it out for the picture of the day, or if FR was down, but the site is just not fun or interesting. I never go there anymore.
It's been a while since I logged on too. I also am a member of the "banned."
Hmmm...I wonder if Navigator has returned to the fold over at Lucianne's.
Navigator ticked off a lot of folks by having them banned.
I used to go there but I haven't been lately. Lucy had a vision of a perfect website but it hasn't worked that way.
Don't go there anymore. I wasn't banned, but FR is so much more fun and up on breaking news.
The moderators at Lucianne are pretty rigid, it used to be a somewhat busy site a few years ago, I stopped posting there in 2003 after somebody e-mailed me some very hateful comments.
I went there last month and noticed how slow it has bacome. I won't even bother now.
FYI IIRC Lucianne's son is Jonah Goldberg of the NRO
I'm grateful to L.com. I never would have found FR without it.
It's been pretty quiet over there since the mass exodus of 2001.
I've never been to that site. Have heard of it. But now, after reading this thread, I won't waste my time going over.
I appear to have been banned and I rarely, if ever, posted. Nothing wild, either. I contacted "staff" to try to determine why I wasn't being allowed to post and never received a response of any kind. Screw 'em. If I want my posts to be scrutinized by librarians, I'll go over to Moveon.org.
Back in the day, heard about FR from other posters on Lucianne. Lurked here for a while, then joined, and haven't looked back. Just for fun, I logged on over there, and it does look kinda quiet.
I was booted years ago because of a pro-choice moderator ... my defense (active, always) of the right to live for the little unborn ones was not popular with LG or the mods. Are we moving in a similar direction here at FR?
Ping
I,too was banned for a silly (IMHO) reason in 2004 after being a poster there for years. I found my new home at FR and will never look back,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Actually, I go there a lot, but it has never been as lively as FreeRepublic. I'll pop in there for a quick look-see and spend the rest of the day at FR.
I enjoy the picture of the day and Shortcuts -- helps me get the must-reads out of the way early in the day. But for in-depth discussion, there is no place like Free Republic. Lucianne's policy of no article being more than one day old, no searches, no discussions, makes for a very dry site -- might as well be Drudge! And the constant lecturing by the Admin staff really makes me tired.
After saying all that, I hope I don't get banned here!
I have no clue on earth why they banned me from the prissy, fastidious, quasi-totalitarian Lucianne.com.
I visit Lucianne several times a day.
Love her humor and joy.
We conservatives owe her a lot.
