Last month it was reported that he had a $70,000 visit to London and Scotland paid for by a native American tribe and gambling interests, and a $106,921 trip to South Korea in 2001 financed by Korean business.
The fact of the matter is that Tom DeLay's redistricting efforts helped the Republicans gain five seats in the house of representatives last November and also helped the Texas legislature become Republican for the first time in 100 years.
The party is standing behind him for the most obvious reason, and that is that many are responsible for the high level committee spots that they have garnered, but the question begs is this the type of leadership at all costs that we want in the party.....
