There are certain events in history that have changed the way we act and think as a nation. The killing of President Kennedy, the attack on 9/11 and the capture of Saddam Hussein will be forever etched in our memory as if the video was playing inside our head. I remember when Reagan said, "tear down this wall," and how he boldly dared to throw down the gauntlet at the evil empire.
I think the death of Terry Schiavo will have the same impact on this country. Everyone who has watched this drama on TV should understand what is at stake, not just the slow and painful death of a woman, but the ignorance of the constitution of the United States of America. With the Supreme Court once again refusing to consider the case of Terry Schiavo, I am wondering what is the basis behind their refusal? If this isn't a constitutional issue, I don't know what is. I am no legal scholar, but as I remember, the Constitution says something about how life, liberty or property cannot be taken away without due process. And it is due process that the Supreme Court has refused to take a look at. Justice Kennedy could have reviewed the case himself, but instead, took the easy way out and referred it to the full court who denied the petition.

IMO what needs to be changed are the laws of Flordia. And if Judge Greer truly was at fault, he should be impeached and removed from the bench.
Both actions are the responsibility of the state legislature.
Agreed.
Terri's death changed several things:
1. There are many who are rewriting their wills & instructions in an effort to avoid their own forced starvations & dehydrations.
2. There will be a huge microscope placed over Judge Greer and how the judiciary, both federal & state, does its business.
3. Michael will be free to marry his "fiance'"
4. Hopefully SOMEONE will look into how hospices are supposed to be run.
I don't know that it will change anything. I've listened to the same pro-abort liberals at work go off on this since it started, and they supported M. Schiavo 100%.
A good place to start.
Will Schiavo's death change anything? Yes, two words: LIVING WILL.
