Lawmakers Need Only Make Law Allowing Michael Schiavo to Divorce Terri and Move On

Lawmakers, just create a clause allowing Michael Schiavo to divorce Terri, go on with his life and Let Terri have the feeding tube back and Live.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Conspiracy; Health/Medicine; Politics; Society
KEYWORDS: feedingtubeback; letterrilive; schiavo; terri; terrischiavo
The only thing these Judges and other lawmakers need to do is put a clause in the law to allow Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo (and other spouses in this predicament) to divorce the disabled spouse and give up all spousal rights - "troth" Terri back to her flesh and blood family" who want to assume responsibility for her regardless of whether the parents will hand over responsibility to Terri's brother due to their own ages.

The fact that Terri's husband has already moved on with his life, living common-law with another woman with whom he has two children, strongly supports the fact that he has already divorced himself from Terri emotionally and psychologically; Terri can no longer fulfill her role as his wife. Terri's husband made a vow to her when he married her "...to love, to have and to hold, for better or worse; for richer or poorer; in SICKNESS and in health TILL DEATH US DO PART (not ...MURDER US DO PART) ...". The law won't let him divorce her because Terri is not able to vocalize agreement or disagreement with the idea of divorce. However, people make those same vows then get divorced everyday, so, WHY NOT an escape clause for Terri's husband, Michael to divorce her. He is human; and 15 years is a long time to have one's life be held in limbo. However, he should give up all husbandly claims and rights to any money she has, and any insurance claims. NONE of Terri's money should be taken with him for him, his other woman and their children to live it up on at Terri's expense. He should just GO! The money in Terri's name should go for provision of her care.

A law to ALLOW him to divorce? He's always been allowed to divorce her, he just won't. He was a control freak before, is even now controlling her slow torturous murder, and will control her burial by immediate cremation to destroy all evidence and scatter her ashes far away from her family on his private land in PA.

I understand there is no more money left after payments to her death squad of Felos and Greer.

It may very well be that hino won't get her life insurance if he's divorced. He's got to pay for those new Mercedes he bought for himself and his mistress, ya know.

I don't know whether there is any life insurance at issue. But generally speaking, unless the beneficiary on the policy has changed and absent any finding of wrongdoing such as the husband murdering the wife, if the husband is named beneficiary, he gets the proceeds regardless of whether he and the wife are divorced.

Divorce? Oh no, he's too decent a man. After all he said he made a "commitment" to Terri. If it weren't so sickening it would almost be funny.

The new line being put out there now is that in the privacy of their own conversations within their own loving relationship as husband and wife, they discussed this and he made a solemn promise to her at that time to follow through on that promise regarding her end of life wishes.

He seems a bit selective on the vows he keeps, ignoring the marital vows he made to her and only fulfilling the "promise" to her that most benefits him. And, he only acted on that promise 7 years after her incident, totally ignoring that promise for 7 years but acting on it only after the malpractice lawsuit that padded his pocketbook and after he met his new honey.

Beyond disgusting, with the media propaganda on this, most people will never see the truth.

Notice what Felos said yesterday in that debacle of a press conference. He defers all questions to what "the court decided," even that she would be cremated immediately, that she be allowed the Sacrament of the Living once (supposedly they did this before removing the tube), and that no other sacraments would be administered. Every answer he gives is that "the court decided/ruled." The court ruled that Terri wished to be removed from artificial means. Even if he gave custody to Terri's parents, the court has ruled that she will die. They would be unable, by law, to have her tube reinserted.

Terri Schiavo Before dehydration

God Bless you Terri in your hour of death

Let everyone who said your beautiful smile was fake be haunted by it for the rest of their days.

just a question, if he divorced her, then would her parents get to become the legal guardians?

He might be out of the money then because when she does eventually pass away, they would have, if they were smart, change it so that THEY or someone other than Michael were the chief beneficiaries of the insurance estate. Is that in the realm of possibility here? Maybe?

Isn't the House Reform Committee the one that issued the subpoena for Terri? It is time for them to enforce it. Would it do any good to call each one of these guys and demand they enforce the subpoena?

Divorce would never do. He wants her dead.

I suspect that it's because he did this to her and he's afraid she'd testify against him - but that's pure 100% speculation on my part.

What? The woman no longer has the part of her brain that would allow her to testify. I think you're missing that point somewhat.

With THOSE courts in FL? NO WAY! Her parents would NEVER become her guardian. Did you All know that Greer appointed HIMSELF guardian ad litem?? A pure and total conflict of interest!

If that's true, fine. However, there was a woman that recently "woke up" after having been in a state very much like Terri's for 20 years. She had some memory (still thought she was 18 years old).

You got it! He was a control freak before her "collapse" and now he must control her death by cremating her so no one sees what he's done to her (see the FR thread today on her bone scan - multiple trauma). If ther were a divorce, her parents would become the guardians and they would most certainly see his butt in jail. It's also been reported the trust fund for her rehab is all but depleted. The funds went to paid hubby's legal fees rather than her rehab. He has no use for her now that the $$$ is no longer there. He does however have need of her life insurance (gotta pay for those two new Mercedes of his and his mistress).
