Did anyone just see this on OReilly? Amazing!! Lanny Davis actually talking sense on Schiavo case. He is on the side of saving her. This country is turned upside down. Very depressing. BTW is the Supreme Court going to rule on this tonight? They were saying earlier that they could restore nurishment to Terri while they are reviewing the case.
So9
I know....I saw him! Whodda thunk it?!
Lanny's a silly, but basically decent guy. Thanks for sharing this nice news.
Ralph Nader took her side today on Crossfire...
This isn't an issue of liberal or conservative to me. This is an issue of those of us who have followed it closely smelling a rat. Nader and Davis, though we disagree with them on most, smell the same rat. You can't read all these stories and help but sense that something terribly awful is going on.
Anyone with a fraction of humanity must take Terri's side.
Starving someone to death is barbaric and cruel in the extreme.
I am virtually certain that Nat Hentoff would side with life for Terry, as well. He is a truly principled leftist, about the only one I know. It would be interesting to hear from him on this.
Hmmmmm...before long you'll be hearing the BEAST, who all of a sudden found religion say the same thing..."I'm on Terri's side blah, blah, blah" "I believe in the sanctity of life given by God, blah, blah blah," and the mediaWHORES will swoon over her....they make me SICK!!
This is how I understand what is going to happen next on that score. Justice Anthony Kennedy has jurisdiction over cases coming from the 11th Circus Court and he gets to decide whether or not the Supreme Court will take the case. He has already denied the Court the opportunity to exercise that responsibility twice in Terri's case. It only stands to reason that he would deny it a third time.
That's completely true. Asking for government intervention in this matter was leftist in nature.
I think Ralph is somewhat loopy, but basically a man of honor. Love it. BTW, has anyone heard from Pat Buchanan?
Yeah, Nat's great. A true advocate for freedom and against political correctness. And a good jazz critic too.
It shouldn't be an issue of liberal or conservative but somehow it has become one.
Why did it take until today for any prominent liberals to come out on this? Where has Lanny been hiding?
Everyone one in the U.S. should be wanting to put the feeding tube back and get Terri some therapy and away from that man who treats her like a mushroom.
But who's on the husband's side? The ACLU!
This thing cuts across party lines. Several people on this forum think she should die
Swear to God, when I scrolled this thread, Hentoff's name came to mind.
Before sunrise, I do believe that Terri will be in a safe place.
Don't let myopia over this case cloud your judgment. Lanny did take Terri's side and articulated his reasons well, but not once but TWICE he shoehorned in a mention of the GOP politicizing this case and citing the dubious 'GOP Memo.'
I won't cut him any slack - he knows that more likely than not ,at this point, to not have been prepared by a GOP Senate staffer. It didn't stop him from taking the shot twice.
Lanny Davis - you don't need this guy on your side.
