Did anyone see the show yesterday afternoon? I found it fascinating on several counts.
TOPICS: Conspiracy; Government; History
KEYWORDS: assassination; cia; conspiracy; kennedy; lapolice; mafia; rfk
The leading RFK assasination conspiracy theory debunker is Dan Moldea. He is also a leading debunker of the claims that Vince Foster was murdered. His arguments in both cases were unconvincing and imho contrived.
The show had an amazing tape recording of an LA cop badgering a witness trying to get her to change her story.
I also found the balloons on the floor in the pantry very interesting. As the large entourage enters the pantry filling it wall to wall with people they have no choice but to step on the balloons.
Pop. pop. pop. pop. This was perfect camouflage for gunshots.
Then we have Sirhan Sirhan, with no previous history of violence, apparently in a trance at the time, as the perfect patsy. He has a piece of paper in his pocket about RFK's support of Israel. How convenient. His diary cites a RFK speech and dates it two days before it was given. (Somebody messed up on that one.) Then we have the intelligence community backgrounds of the LAPD's lead investigators.
This has been discussed a lot less than JFK theories, but imho the case for conspiracy is at least as strong. The kill shot was made a range closer than Sirhan ever got to RFK, and there were too many bullet holes to be accounted for by Sirhan's eight shot weapon.
For those who don't remember, RFK had promised that if eleccted President he would investigate JFK's death. He was also the man who, as Attorney General, kidnapped New Orleans Mafia boss Carlos Marcello and dumped him in the middle of a Central American jungle. Marcello returned to the states and vowed vengeance. (There has been at least one book tying Marcello to the JFK assassination.) Sirhan also worked at a horse farm allegedly run by the Mafia in the L.A. area. Sirhan fell off a horse, was checked into a hospital, and according to friends and associates was never the same again. Hypnosis? Manchurian Candidate?
I would be interested in the thoughts of Freepers who have looked into this matter.

Moldea is a tool.
That being said, I don't think anyone has ever been able to prove-or construct even a moderately convincing argument-that Foster did not, in fact, commit suicide.
Philip Weiss-who isn't exactly enamored of Bill Clinton-debunked the Foster mythology years ago.

Balloon pop is a distinct sound. A gunshot is a distinct sound and a hell of a lot louder. I can pop a balloon in my basement and not hear it on the second floor. I use a 22 blank to drive a nail into my walls and you can hear it throughout the house. Just a thought. Hypnosis doesn't work the way it does in the movies. I do agree there is some sort of conspiracy, I just don't know what. Were the Kennedy's part of the global conspiracy? Did they cross the leaders or others in power? Were they just killed because they were involved with nefarious people. I don't know. We will never know. There is something going on and we will never find the real truth.

From my perspective, the issues of how way Foster died, whether his body was moved, inter alia, were simply a huge distraction from what should have been the main focus of congressional inquiries, i.e., the grotesque abuse of power/obstruction of justice that took place in the White House Counsel's Office in the immediate aftermath of Foster's death.

Free Sirhan!! What other first time offender is still in jail nearly 40 years after his crime? He shot RFK in an fit of emotions, we should let him out. After all, the bastard who killed Mary Jo Kopeckne is a free man.
Unless of course there is undue and inappropriate political influence at work

What astounds me is that someone can assassinate a former Attorney General of the United States, and leading contender for the presidency at the time...AND STILL HAVE A POSSIBLITY OF BEING PAROLED!
I wonder if the Pakistani criminal justice system works that way.

shot Kennedy in a fit of emotions
Actually witness accounts indicate that Sirhan was in a trance-like state in the pantry, showed no emotion there, showed no emotion after being arrested, showed no emotion while being interrogated.
In fact the only way you could get the guy to show emotion was to hypnotize him.
Who ever heard of an un-emotional individual from a Palestinian family? :-)

I was simply attempting to illustrate the leniency-in certain respects-of our criminal justice system.
Both the assassin of Congressman Lowenstein, and the attempted assassin of President Reagan, were eventually allowed to walk free, albeit, with certain court-sanctioned injunctions circumscribing their freedom of movement.

Ah but that is the difference. Had Sirhan killed a nobody he would have been let out after serving 10 -20. But kill a kennedy and there really is only one person(s) with the final say.
