On DU, you can't even use the search function without being a donor. They can't get people to donate just because they feel like they want to support the site (like here). Instead, they have to bribe people to give using the star (which renders a great deal of invincibility), search functions and other incentives. They don't even believe in themselves enough to just have donors.

Therein lies the dilemma for me. I would LOVE to go over there and really wreak havoc, but to DONATE to them? Ewww.
