Thanks for the heads up. I travel VA frequently. I guess I'll have to find another route that bypasses VA.

Do that.....I got a speeding ticket on I81 and had to drive 350 miles to Lexington to appear in court because I was clocked over 80....and on my birthday....very sour.....
I had no problem paying the ticket...by mail....I was told that if I didn't appear in court they could suspend my liscense and tell Jersey and then I'd get my liscense suspended in my home state.....how ridiculous is that!!!!!!!

Beware!!!!

Sorry to hear you won't be coming to our beautiful state, but your statement brings up a good point.
I wonder if they thought of the fact that they will lose money from people like you and other future tourists?

If you come through Richmond on 95 be aware that speeding in that area will get an "enhanced" fine. Now.

"Speeding Fines Doubled Along Richmond I-95 Corridor
January 6, 2005
The Virginia Departments of Transportation, Motor Vehicles and State Police announced today that a 13-mile segment of Interstate 95 from Bells Road south of Richmond to Brook Road north of Richmond has been designated a "Highway Safety Corridor." Under a law passed by the Virginia General Assembly in 2003, maximum speeding fines in a Highway Safety Corridor are doubled, from $250 to $500. Minimum fines for Reckless Driving are set at $200 and can reach the maximimum fine of $2,500. Fines for DUI are unaffected and remain at a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $2,500. "
