One friendly word of warning: When you first start posting, and you make a point we don't like, we don't have to offer any facts to bolster our position. We will call you an "Newbie" and a "troll" and tell you to go back to DU. Don't ask why, it just seems to work that way around here. But if you take the lumps, it gets better as time goes by good point. Like being a Rookie in training camp.

Okay, when you post a reply, look at the "To" bpx above the large rectangular "Your Reply" box.
In this case you will see that I added a semicolon (no space) and then the name, Billie, an FRiend of mine. By putting Billie's name in the To: box, I have pinged her to this thread. She will see that when the "ping" notice goes red at the top of any thread she goes on.
Hey, Billie! And to think, I didn't even ping the pingmeister, Arthur McGowan.:)

You see, so often during the election period we have had Democratic Underground or equally stupid idiots coming in, being banned, returning and always posting some self-serving vanity thread.
They're good for entertainment, and I think the record holder is I'm so stupid... with a current 7630 posts. Vanity posts aren't the best way to go, particularly for a newcomer, given all the invasions FR has had.
News/Current events articles are a valuable way to start out, along with various intelligent comments on threads. With time, you will learn the posters you agree with, and the ones you think are jerks. Just settle in and learn which side of the pool you enjoy the most.:)
