I hope he lives up to your expectations, PJ. We need a viable 2+ party system. I would like the opposition to be sane. They may come into power again.
He has very, very radical views on abortion. And he tends to do the Edwards thing, y'know, the "two America's." I was very upset when he won. I don't live in Illinois, but my sister does and she loves it. And because my sister's favorite president is Clinton, that makes me very very wary.

I counted about 6 different threads over there cheering Boxer before I gave up....not that it matters, Dr Rice will be easily confirmed and all the cheering will turn to wails of torment.
I was "tracking" DUmmie responses to various issues yesterday (Tuesday), and they do have a serious problem with the attention-span.
They're "for" one thing at 12:41:15, and "against" that same thing at 12:42:45--and mark my words, while it may seem they're "for" the junior senatorette from California right now, inevitably they will turn on her, probably as soon as later this week.

I am sure it is those drugs they constantly allege they are taking (legal ones).....interestingly, yesterday there was a story on the major newswires, about a physician who suggests that perhaps, perhaps, perhaps, 80% of all such drugs are overprescribed.

He may be a leftist but he seems to have quite a following. If we are to thwart him in the future, praising him on FR is probably a good place to start. He'll either have to jump to our side to remain credible or lose Demo fans by being acceptable to us.

Omigod, at about 8:30 this morning (Nebraska time, with temperatures already above 30 degrees), there is a really intricate discussion among the DUmmies in DUmmieland, arguing about whether "rednecks" are "good" or "bad." There actually seems to be a 50-50% divide among the DUmmie ants; one of the rare times they are not 100% unanimously in accord with each other.
It certainly provides a break from their usual monotonousness, their usual marching-in-lockstep.
And, uh, there are subtle clues over in the morass, that they're going to start cussing Barbara Boxer, perhaps as early as today, but more probably tomorrow during the celebration, when they're all out spending money.

We'll see if Obama is just another race hustler. A good litmus test for Barack is privatized social security. How? Well, for whatever reason, black males have the shortest life span and white females live the longest, therefore, the social security system is a defacto wealth transfer between these two groups. The number one crusade of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton should be privatized social security, but it's not. They are just interested in money and power and the usual race hustling ways to get it. If Barack Obama had any sense and integrity, he should be advocating privatized social security. If a black man dies at 62 years old, his family gets little, if any, of his SS contributions.
