"I am very sorry we have forgotten the lessons learned in the 60's. I am very disappointed in my generation, I thought the future would be better when we were in charge, instead a black cloud has moved in and will never leave. Batman has lost. "

He grew up, Peter Pan.

The weight of it is mighty and hope is shrouded in the mists ahead.

Every one of these overgrown children tries so hard to be a "poet" while spewing out overwrought lines that even Hallmark wouldn't buy.

Don't these posts look like they were written by the character of Dharma's dad on Dharma and Greg? You would swear the character was satire until you read this.

What ever happened to Earl Schieb, by the way?

He became the makeup artist for Tammy Faye Bakker.

You nailed it. What concerns me is that the younger DU's will believe the slop put out by the older hippies and once again our country will be set back. IMO our current social problems and lack of morality, yes, I AM going to use that word, can all be traced back to that time. And, for any DU's that might be reading this: by lack of morality I am referring to the severe lack of respect for human life nowadays; ie, drive-by shootings, children abducted and murdered, etc. The current generation has a whole lot of work ahead to undo the mess that was left to them.

I think she has it hooked inside her collar. Thankfully this pic was snapped before she tore her clothes off in protest. No amount of photoshopping would have been able to make that palatable. My computer just does not have that kind of power. Would have fried my motherboard to even try.

Good one, P.J., as usual.

I checked your story about hunting hippies; I recommend it to others in here. (The link is in one of P.J.'s; I never bothered learning how to post links, although now it seems a good idea to learn.)

Speaking of this book deal: Why don't you get your good buddy Barak Obama to hook you up with a publisher?

Methinks Barak is in enough hot water with the DUmmies as it is. There have already been a couple of DUmmie Threads blasting Obama. Since Obama is now my favorite Democrat Senator, I don't want to make things worse for him.

So much of the nostalgia about the 60s is fantasy anyway. I only knew one person who could be classified as a hippie. It was an uncle, my grandfather didn't want his sons drafted for any reason so he sent one son to college. He promptly failed every class, disappeared for a few years and eventually needed to be rescued from some nutjob cult. He finally grew up, became an electrician and raised a family.

My other uncle went into the Michigan national guard. He went to school after he served his time and became a very successful businessman.

The rest of my aunts and uncles looked and behaved like hippies but didn't have any firm political beliefs. They just wanted to get high. These days they're mostly conservatives.

The DUmmies hate everybody. They even hate their Queen the PantSuited Hildebeast.

I considered rushing to her defense, but then I realized that would be a classic freeper troll thing to do, so I did not.
