I think that Hippie Hunting article was originally from back in the days when I was syndicating my own humor column. I got the idea of self-syndicating when I was working as an editor/writer at a humor magazine. I was AMAZED at the low quality of the article submission. Not only the stories themselves but the lack of any basic knowledge of how to write a cover letter. Often the cover letter was nothing more than a few scribbled sentences.

Soon afterwards I sent out my own humor article submissions (including the Hippie Hunting one). The money earned wasn't much but I am still proud of the fact that EVERY ONE of my articles were published in some newspaper somewhere. Oh, and lots of them were read by MILLIONS of Russkies back when I was the American Correspondent of Krokodil Magazine in the waning days of the old Evil Empire.
