I got into an argument with my girlfriend over her mom voting for Bush. Something along the lines of, "And you live with that stupid bitch?"

Nice. These people think they have something to teach us when this is how they handle disagreements over politics? Hope this girl wises up and leaves this a$$hole soon.

A DUmmie "kicking their stupid asses"? I see some pale 30something show wears a Che! t-shirt slapping someone on the shoulder from behind and then running away in a 'tard run, arms flailing, and then bragging to his friends that he "kicked some republican ass! That's what *I'M* talkin about!"

I too am about to visit family for the first time in over a decade. I am not sure I will be able to hold my tongue. My mother is becoming more christian fundamentalist by the day. She is totally brainwashed. My wife will probably have to restrain me when the rest of the repugs in my family get in the same room with me. I have avoided them for decades.

Oh well. At least someday when your folks are dead and you're estranged from your siblings, and it's too late for reconciliation, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you kept your principals and chose bitter partisan politics over family.

Yeah, I don't want to do the keyboard kammando routine, but I haven't met too many liberals whose ass I wasn't certain I could easily stomp. They tend to avoid the rough trades.

Bush definitely won WI. Campaign contributions to Bush were higher and I saw those lawn signs EVERYWHERE (on a road trip to Madison, I counted :D) We were all predicting that he would win here. Madison is known for voting fraud; if you go to bars around there you'll hear people bragging about how they voted about five times.

Having fun. I originally started because I wanted to inject some sense into these people. I got banned once because I refused to lie, and let myself go overboard about the Iraq war.

Now I admit that I am there under false pretenses. You have to be a progressive before you are "welcome" there. The same thing as here, but in reverse.

But I don't flatter them, falsely or otherwise. In fact, I have all but called them idiots and bigots. But not directly. I attack their positions, and if it is, say, anti-white, anti-Western, anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, anti-Southern, etc., I call it bigotry. But no personal attacks. Very long time posters who actually are liberal have been banned when they got into flame wars.

Then there is the Lounge. These people can be quite reasonable, so long as politics is not at issue. I've got nothing else I'd rather do late at night before I go to bed, so I read and post here, and at DU. More posting there than here, of course, because I like to argue. I don't actually have much that I disagree with here, although sometimes in the Religion forum I see a few things.

Finally, I forgot rule #1 Be civil. I don't consider it toadyism if I treat them with respect as human beings even if I loathe everything they stand for.

But, hey, why are you worried about it, anyway. It's simply a matter of taste.

k, think of the episodes with the lawyer for the drug addict at Hank's work and the archeologist digging up Hank's backyard.

Your statement rings true!

She left the following day, choosing to stay at the Hilton instead. Now when she comes to town she stays at the Hilton and never comes over. My hubby thinks this is for the best & wasn't in the least bit angry with me. I feel sooo much better now…

From personal experience, it takes a special kind of a$$hole to run off their family into a hotel and for more then a one time thing. It must have been unbearable to be there. I can't believe someone is proud of having run family off all because they sense elation in their voice.

I blame them, blame them, blame them! Total idiots! They aren't misguided, they're evil. You are correct. They deserve no sympathy or understanding, and will never get any from me.

Not hard to imagine what they'd do to us conservatives and/or Christians if given the chance isn't it? I bet this is how Mooselimb countries feel about America(ns) too.

These people are something else. I wish I had one of them in front of me so I could re-enact that famous scene in Moonstruck when Cher smacks Nicolas Cage and yells, "SNAP OUT OF IT!!!"

That really is sick. It reminded me of the following infamous DU post:
Hope the Bloodshed Continues in Iraq"...

"Well, that should bring the bats out of the attic with fangs dripping. I won't be hypocritcal. It is politically correct, particularly in any Dem discussion to hope and pray and feel for our troops and scream "bring them back now". I'm fighting something bigger.

"I'm a 58 year old broad and I can tell you that what is going on in our country isn't the usual ebb and flow of politics where one party is in power and then another; where the economy goes through ups and downs.......yawn, yawn--just wait a bit and things will turn out peachy keen. That stupid la-la land is over.

I realize that not every GI Joe was 100peeercent behind Prseeedent Booosh going into this war; but I do know that that is what an overwhelming number of them and their famlies screamed in the face of protesters who were trying to protect these kids. Well, there is more than one way to be "dead" for your country. They are not only not accompishing squat in Iraq, they are doing crap nothing for the safety, defense of the US of A over there directly. But "indirectly" they are doing a lot.

The only way to get rid of this slime bag WASP-Mafia, oil barron ridden cartel of a government, this assault on Americans and anything one could laughingly call "a democracy", relies heavily on what a sh*t hole Iraq turns into. They need to die so that we can be free. Soldiers usually did that directly--i.e., fight those invading and harming a country. This time they need to die in defense of a lie from a lying adminstration to show these ignorant, dumb Americans that Bush is incompetent. They need to die so that Americans get rid of this deadly scum. It is obscene, Barbie Bush, how other sons (of much nobler blood) have to die to save us from your Rosemary's Baby spawn and his ungodly cohorts."

You know it's funny....a chick I was dating (left wing extremist) had a case of Foot In Mouth syndrome and said "Republicans don't pay attention to the issues, have you ever noticed that?"

Needless to say that date ended a lot sooner than expected.

>>$ 200,000 or more Bush 63%, Kerry 35% ( The Rich).<<<

That is funny that a family making 200K or more is condsidered "rich", because usually they go by a family of four in these surveys.
Let me tell you, a family of four with a household income of $200,000 BEFORE taxes is not rich in certain areas of this country.
For example, if you live in the MD or VA suburbs that are close to DC. Hoo Boy.
