The respected columnist Andres Oppenheimer of the Miami Herald has gotten hold of a pretty seamy secret document showing an emerging alliance between South America and the Arab League. The 28-page draft document for a May 10-11 summit in Brazil will endorse Arab terrorism and condemn Israel. It would also 'study' the 'root causes' of terrorism, and 'distinguish' the kinds of terrorism they justify and the kinds they can condemn without consequence. We all well know what that means.
Oppenheimer writes:
My conclusion: South American countries are playing with fire by extending the focus of the summit to Middle Eastern politics. That is bound to grab headlines, add tension to U.S.-South American ties and, what may be worse, introduce the Middle East's tensions into a hemisphere where Jews and Arabs have lived in harmony for centuries. That's the last thing South America needs.

The writer is a very serious columnist for the Miami Herald. Read the article and see if you don't agree with him - there's a very disturbing developing in the pipeline and everyone needs to know about it. Read the Oppenheimer column!

No South American country in their right mind will endorse Arab terrorism. This is absolutely ludicrous.
If this did happen, would it enable us to protect our borders?
We'll see. I hope you are right, of course, but there are foul political winds blowing in that region of the world. Anything could happen.
Oppenheimer is a very respected source not given to exaggeration or rhetoric. I am hoping his fine column will scare the dummies sensible.

You may be toooo young but after WW11 the Nazies that could get out of Germany went to South America and it took years for the Jews to find and get them back to Israel. I believe the Jews had to kidnap one. The best that I can remember.
