Abu Musab al-Zarqawi reportedly arrested in Iraq
ITAR-TASS ^ | 01/04/05

DUBAI, January 4 (Itar-Tass) - Abu Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, whom the US occupation authorities declared to be the "target number one" in Iraq, has been arrested in the city of Baakuba, the Emirate newspaper al-Bayane reported on Tuesday referring to Kurdish sources. Al-Zarqawi, leader of the terrorist group Al-Tawhid Wa'al-Jihad, was recently appointed the director of the Al-Qaeda organisation in Iraq.

The newspaper's correspondent in Baghdad points out that a report on the seizure of the terrorist, on whom the US put a bounty of 10 million dollars, was also reported by Iraqi Kurdistan radio, which at one time had been the first to announce the arrest of Saddam Hussein.

There have been no official reports about the arrest of the terrorist. Al-Zarqawi, 38, a Jordanian, whose real name is Ahmad al-Khalayleh, aims to turn Iraq into a "new Afghanistan". According to Arab press data, Al-Tawhid Wa'al-Jihad group has divided Iraq into several emirates. The group's independent subdivisions at a strength of 50 to 500 militants operate in the cities of Al-Falluja, Al-Qaim, Diala, and Samarra.

The personnel of the group is on the whole 1,500-strong and includes Iraqis and citizens of Arab and Islamic countries. There are demolition experts and missilemen among them.

The group has depots of weapons and explosives in various parts of the country. It intends to frustrate the upcoming parliamentary elections that are scheduled for the end of this month. Al-Tawhid Wa'al-Jihad threatens to do away with Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi and members of the interim government.

Nope,it doesn't mean "bitter" in Italian.

I just found the chicken casserole recipe and there's no Amarula in it.

I think that the person who started the whole thing about Amarula got you confused...I know it made me dizzy. LOL

I'm just trying to set the record straight here...don't worry about it. :-)

The cookies are made from the licquor. LOL

Yes,raw almonds are bitter, but that's NOT why Amaretto is called Amaretto. :-)

Fox News just said the mayor of Baghdad has been assasinated. Is that new news or a repeat?

Unless by amarugola the original poster meant arugola?

They sure sound the same. A spelling error perhaps?

"I just found the chicken casserole recipe and there's no Amarula in it."

Yes, I know. I just saved the recipe. But you can always use a little arugola as a side order.

Yup something like that. My friend once sent me some dried anchos and guajillos and stuff with a bunch of junk and the seeds packets were in there. Mexican food stuff - mexican knor chicken stock and packets of sabor. - then customs never bothers to check really.

I got only 2 packets of ancho left and no more guajillos or sabor.

You want anything from here? we got a lot of spices and stuff.

No, i said amaretto cookies are made from almonds. They do retain the bitter taste of raw almonds. They're good. You ought to try them sometimes as an aperitif.

No, never read them, but heard that not only his speeches were boring, he himself was boring.

But the speechwriter I mentioned before had wanted Stevenson to oppose the Vietnam war, which he did not. Hence this man and his consort ended up on Nixon's enemy list.

No........those cookies are made with Amaretto! Read the label. And they are SWEET,not bitter at all. Those white bits are sugar crystals.

A cookie can NOT be called an aperitif;that's a drink.

I've been eating those cookies for close to 40 years. :-)

The speeches were dreadful.

He wrote speeches for Stevenson, when Nixon was president? WHY? Adlai held NO office then. Why would he give a speech and why would he give an anti-Nam speech?

Arugola (and I'm not sure it's spelled that way) is a bitter, deep purpley red, white veined kind of lettuce, used by Italians.

Amarula is a liquor made from the marula fruit in South Africa. There's a BIG difference! LOL

I'm going to bed...

"He wrote speeches for Stevenson, when Nixon was president?"

No, before Nixon became president.

The man I was talking about (the one on Nixon's enemy list) was Stevenson's main speechwriter. His name is Franken. He had wanted Stevenson to take a stance against the Vietnam war in his presidential bid. Stevenson did not give an anti-Vietnam speech, nor did he take a anti-Nam stance. Humphrey took an anti-Vietnam position and was chosen as the democratic presidential candidate. How Mr Franken and his spouse ended up on Nixon's list, I do not know. But I do know it was for his position against the Vietnam war.

Ummmmmmmm...this man is telling you lies. THERE WAS NO VIETNAM WAR,NOR AMERICAN PRESSENCE IN VIETNAM,WHEN ADLAI RAN FOR PRESIDENT!

There was the Indochina stuff, but the French were fighting that and beaten badly.

Are you aware of just WHEN and against WHOM Adlai Stevenson ran for president against? It was Ike. TWICE.We're talking about '52 and '56. THE VIETNAM WAR,IN 1952,WITH AMERICAN INVOLVEMENT? ROTFLOL
