Would you believe that there has not been a country station in New York since WYNY switched formats ten years ago?
No wonder it's a blue state. Country must be considered low class?
I didn't know that, I'm surprised because from what I remember they were always one of the top rated radio stations in the area (Not because country music was necessarily popular, but it had a monopoly while every other format had 2 or 3 stations).
I know awhile back a country music station started on Long Island, I don't know if they put each other out of business or not.
Actually what sad is just when I started to like the music they play on DRE (92.7) which used to be for freaks, they changed to Spanish.
