Taxing The Other Guy

Voting for something that taxes the other guy and not yourself seems basically unfair. A couple of examples from the recent election come to mind. In Benicia, California, where I live, the school district had a parcel tax on the ballot. No surprise. Schools always seem to need more money. This particular one granted an exemption to people over 65. So, since I fit in that category, I could vote for a tax
