It's All Or Nothing For CBS

RatherBiased.com reports that a huge debate is raging within CBS: Should the entire Memogate report be released or just an editted 'public' version? WOW!!! How outrageous is it that they even consider turning loose anything less than the full and complete report?
What does this indicate?
- The Memogate report is thorough and truthful.
- A certain highly-insulated group at CBS still thinks they are above accountability.
What to watch for:
- CBS will claim they had no choice but to edit out certain portions of the report because of 'personnel policies' protecting the 'privacy of employees'.
- Release of an editted Memogate report will result in an immediate and unavoidable clamor. In fact, media bias activists, bloggers, FReepers and more would love to see CBS try to pass off a sanitized report as their ticket back to credibility!
- Everyone will be asking "What was left out?" long after we digest what was left in.
- We won't have to ask for long, because the complete, internal version of the report will be leaked within 72 hours (or less).
- The holiday season will not enable CBS to run "under the radar" this time. Instead, the season will provide media bias activists with additional opportunities to discuss our failed trust in CBS with our friends, family and co-workers.

The holiday season will not enable CBS to run "under the radar" this time. Instead, the season will provide media bias activists with additional opportunities to discuss our failed trust in CBS with our friends, family and co-workers. The irony of this is that, by driving religion out of Christmas, many of the activities that might have diverted people's attention will not be there anymore, freeing people to focus on other things.

Does anyone expect Dannyboy to start clamoring about how the public has a right to know? ....

I thought the report was due to come out in Jan. Probably the day of the inaugural so it would be off the radar. :-)

Go ahead, Dan.
Say it.
"I am not a crook."
PLEASE, just say it once.
No one is watching anyway.
It will be between you and me.
Oh, by the way.
Where is that report.
You know.
The one about the so-called forged documents.
Wasn't it supposed to come out soon?
Sure looking forward to that.
Some of my friends think you are a no-good, communist, lying skunk, that tried to change an election.
We know what you really are.
Don't we, Dan.
You are not a crook.
Just say it.
Just once, Please.

How outrageous is it that they even consider turning loose anything less than the full and complete report? Very, but it's been their MO for decades so it's not like they're breaking new ground here ;^)
And speaking of flying under the radar, if there's a criminal investigation of cbs etal going on it must be really low key, eh? Does anyone believe these people didn't commit felonies in their attempts to unseat our president?
Just curious, but has ANYBODY heard ANYTHING about a criminal investigation???

Haven't heard a thing about a criminal investigation. I also have to retract part of my response. There was talk early on about the Texas AG(?) looking into the matter since at least some of the chicanery was apparently conceived in our fair state. Haven't heard a whisper since FWIW.
Now, I'm no legal beagle, but this smells of high crimes; fugitabout misdemeanors! It's as if their internal investigation will the final word. Worrisome.

Good article. Rooney's comments are priceless. Do you know if it was posted on FR?

Myself. Tried to post it anyway; FR's software wouldn't allow posting of the article due to copyright yadda yadda. I'm gonna put Rooney's remarks here anyway for, uh, posterity ;^)
CBS Evening News "has been an important factor in life in these United States," Rooney says. "There is no sense in having a democracy unless you have an informed electorate. The evening news on the three networks has been a vital element in the education of the American public. As the evening news diminishes, the information that the public has, to make intelligent decisions, is diminished."
Is the old boy clueless or what???

He is the rearguard charged with protecting the retreating forces from attack. An agressive, offensive attitude is the main weapon in his arsenal.
Being an irrelevant old curmudgeon must be hell.

Yes, I think that's right. Notice how Rooney has been the source of all the little tidbits released to the public. CBS is sending him out like Grandpa to amuse the kids while Sunday dinner is cooking.
