Just saw Nelson Demille on Television discussing his new book, very intelligent, and he has a point- While the characters and story of his story are Fictitious , He personally truly believes that flight 800 was a terror attack, and I do remember seeing something on television when it happened about witnesses seeing a missile, so I really am surprised to see it was officially attributed to a fuel tank. Nelson Demille is Brilliant, so it is Plausible. I'm eager to hear what you all think.

I've loved DeMille's books since I picked up "By the Rivers of Babylon" at a flea market back in the 80s.

Nightfall is the name of a famous story by Issac Asimov. You might want to come up with another title. ( The fog of Midnight? )

Thats because TWA 800 WAS taken out by a missle, covered up by Clinton's NSA and NTSB.
The worst part of all, it was covered up so he could get re-elected.
Now, here is where it gets sticky.
The country, at that time, was in a high state of alert, because of the Atlanta games.
There are three theories behind this shoot-down.
1.It was terrorists firing shoulder launched missles from a boat off the coast of Long Island. The aircraft was at 13,000 feet, well within range of a shoulder fired missle.
2. It was a Navy missle fired at what they believed was another aircraft, inbound, which they had been advised, had been hijacked and was going to be crashed somewhere.
3.The Navy attempted an intercept of the first missle, with one of our anti-missle missles, and missed. The heat signature of the aircraft being greater than the first missle, the anti-missle missle went for the larger target.
Our government initially denied, denied, denied, that there were any Naval vessels anywhere near Long Island on the night of 17 July 1996, but records and witnesses later proved that, in fact, the Navy was running a major surface excercise in that area, that night.
Jack Cashill has done an excellent job of bringing all these facts and witnesses together, and has a book, and DVD,(entitled "Mega-Fix"), that lays it out perfectly. I hope you used some of his information in writing your book. Your book appears to have a resemblance to the couple who were arresetd for trying to investigate the shoot-down.
