I wonder if these "people", the panderers to the world's worst, have any real sense of right or wrong? The hypocrisy in the world's liberals, is beyond belief...how the Pope, a so-called Christian, could heap praise on such a maggot is beyond comprehension.
Is it becoming a rule, that to know who the world's weakest fighters of wrong and evil are, is to listen to whom they praise???
What if these people had been in their present positions when Hitler died, what would we be hearing ???

I'm not too surprised by this. The Pope has been deteriorating ever since terrorists tried to assassinate him. How ironic :-(

Hell is not hot enough, its torments not cruel enough, or its eternity long enough, to adequately punish Yasser Arafat for the crimes and sins he committed while alive.

How does he expect to have credibility glorifying an unrepentant terrorist who hates and kills Jews, the apple of God's eye?

This papal bouquet to Arafat is right in line with the book of Revelation and its references to those who turn against Israel....

I'd say senility trumps malice in this case.

"How does he expect to have credibility glorifying an unrepentant terrorist who hates and kills Jews, the apple of God's eye?"
What is the theology of the Catholic Church and the Pope in this matter? Do they believe that Jewish people are still The Apple of God's Eye as the Bible states? - Or do they believe incorrectly that the Church replaces the Jewish people as the Apple of God's Eye (ie Replacement Theology)? How do they interpret the New Testament?
To: SirLurkedalot
I am not sure at all... The disgraceful history of the Church and the Jews comes back...
To: Pitiricus
Almost all of the major denominations have been corrupted to some degree, so for the most part I study the Book alone, or in a small study group. I am compelled, based on my conclusions and personal experiences, to embrace the Jewish people as my brothers and sisters. I extend a challenge and my middle finger to anyone suggesting otherwise.

The Catholics hold to replacement theology yes, and in general they believe the church (their meaning of "church" is the visible RCC) has authority over the Bible as doctrine, i.e. whatever historically the Catholic church believes determines what particular passage of the whole Bible is to be understood.
I know our stand is very much a minority here - there are perhaps fewer than 10 pre-trib Christians active on FR. I would be more comfortable to dicuss this on a Christian forum.

There is a huge contingent of Catholics over at the Religion forum and still none of them see this post? We are talking about John Paul II here.

They are blinded by their obedience to the pope... I mean I was told that the RCC wasn't antisemitic...
Denying history doesn't make this history less true!
