Gay-Friendly U.S. Bishops Outed by Homosexual Activist 'Catholic' Group

WASHINGTON, November 11, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Four of the most controversial left-leaning US Catholic Bishops have been praised by a homosexual activist group. Archbishop Harry Flynn (Minneapolis/St Paul, MN), Cardinal Roger Mahony (Los Angeles, CA), Bishop Mathew Clark (Rochester, NY) and Bishop Thomas J. Gumbleton (Detroit) were named in a press release by the Rainbow Sash Movement (RSM).

RSM is a group of homosexual activists which stages publicity stunts daring Catholic clergy to deny members communion. RSM members present themselves for communion while wearing a rainbow-colored sash indicating that they are sexually-active homosexuals. While Catholic bishops throughout the United States have themselves refused communion to RSM activists and warned their clergy not to administer communion to them, RSM notes that the four very liberal bishops "have welcomed RSM members to Holy Communion this past year."

RSM has announced to the press that it will be staging its characteristic challenge on Monday, November 15 at the 7pm Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

I'm hoping that some faithful Catholic DC Freepers will show up and give these people a piece of the Church's mind.

Talk about "Sleeping with the Enemy"!

Unless, of course, these "outed" Bishops are also undetected pedophillic butt-bandits.

Spokane? If so,you have a bishop that should repent, confess and resign. But instead it looks like Skylstad will step up to the Chairmanship of the USCCB. Pretty soon the last of Pope Paul's Poofters should be dead or in jail, the question is,will the Church manage to survive them in the West? I'm betting it will.

But whose fault is that - really? There shouldn't be ONE, SINGLE person in ANY of these 'new order' parishes. When they open the doors for 'new order', you should be able to hear the crickets. No one complains. No one asks - what's a sanctuary? No one asks - altar girls, what the . . ? No one looks twice at an 'EM'. You play the devil's game, it won't be fair.

Traditional Catholicism is what Catholicism was even as late as the 1960s, in places. That's where everyone should be. That's what you should see at ALL the local parishes. And that's it.

Otherwise - don't complain.

No surprises with those four names. But there are many, many more - most of them less obvious supporters. And they are all over. Some are bletent in their support for pro-gay causes; others are more subtle - like Egan of NY.

Bishops like Egan - who may or may not personally be butt bandits - sure leave a big trail of bread crumbs by their quiet support for the gay clergy - protecting and promoting them......willingly, gladly. Conniving to transfer and "hide" them when they get into trouble.....across state lines or international waters. The ones like Egan are the most viscous and duplicitous in their arrongant stance against the victims & their parents, threatening them with excommunication & counter-suit.

Sometimes the ones who "hide in plain sight" are the most dangerous.

The vatican is in denial about this scandal.

There should be no "sash friendly" bishop ANYWHERE in any Christian faith.

This "protest" is no different than the couple arested for having sex in a cathedral in NewEngland for some radio contest.

The destruction of Traditional Catholcism and the homosexual infestation of the clergy both have one root cause: acquiesence on the part of the faithful.

You touched upon a very important point - not merely that Trad Catholicism is the way it should be, but the fact that the laity were asleep.......stupid.........too willing to "go along to get along"........were sold and firmly believed that ceasless change was not only normal but was approved and expected of them.

We, the laity, share a lot of the blame, because we did not as one rise up and say NO to the changes.......to the effeminancy of the priests........to the stealing of the money........to the preaching/teaching of heresy/erro/apostacy to ouy children......and becuase we gleefully swallowed the whole bitter pill.....and then were so happy, that we sang hymns about it!

On many levels - for our spiritual sleep and unquestioning unfaith - we hav gotten what we deserved!

It's one thing to advocate the old rite, but you justify disobedience to the Magisterium on the grounds that *you personally* think it's wrong.

No, I don't excuse that at all. In fact, I'm saying to you - the laity should never have gone along with that. The Church has spoken on so many things that the present institutional church has tossed aside. It can't be both. Some things cannot be changed. Those who attempt to do so are no friend of The Catholic Church. They never have been in the past when exactly these same things were done, for example in England at the time of Cranmer and Henry VIIIth. The recently deceased Michael Davies was keen to point out just these sort of comparisons.

Hey! They missed one! Where is Bishop Howard Hubbard on this list? Most of the parishes in the Albany diocese are now run by 'actively' homosexual priests.
