Since I cannot start a thread (which I think is a good rule by the way), I have to hijack one -- at least briefly. I do want this thread to continue on, though, because the topic is so important. (Moderators can feel free to move this, of course.)
But I also had something I wanted to say to all of you. You know that I read DU and have for quite some time, long before any of you knew my name. I really appreciate the support you have given me on this latest hurdle and before. It means a lot to me and to John.
Now that I have more time, I will post some, too. But today I want to share something inspiring, part of a letter from Thomas Jefferson. This is from the new Bernstein biography of Jefferson. Jefferson sent the letter in 1798 after the passage of the Sedition Act:
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."
I love it!!!! They're never going to get it. It's never their problem. It's not their fault that they lost. All they have to do is wait until the pendulum swings back the other way and they will be able to continue with their anti-American, big government, pro-gay, anti-God policies.
The Repubs are going to be driving this bus for a long time to come.
The Edwardses wanted to fight this one all the way... JE knew that if he didn't win this one, his political career was over for good.
I guess we are the witches.
I understand the rule that there should be no links posted here to DU. But if this is genuine, it's certainly news.
Can you give the time and date of this post, for the record?
There is no way to be sure this is posted by Ms. Edwards.
DU is irrelevant. Let it fade into obscurity and go out of business.
They certainly don't deserve any hits from FReepers.
Elizabutt doesn't seem to realize that hatred is not good for the body nor the soul.....
She must be so proud of her fellow citizens on DU after they voted 4-1 that 11/3 was more depressing than 9/11.
She would support the party of slavery.
And Adams had a real problem with haiti and the directory.
Is this for real? Can anyone confirm in some way? I suppose there's no way of knowing for sure it's actually Elizabeth Edwards posting...
I'm familiar with those words. I found myself repeatedly reading them for about 8 years since November of 1992.
We're not the ones in the pointy hats saying, "I'll get you my pretty---and your little dog too!" (Sound of zots from fingers)
thag
This from a woman who is in search of a surgeon who's husband makes his living suing doctors.
Here's the URL -

I hesitated to post this in light of the rule against DU content. But I had heard that Mrs. Edwards had been hanging out there, the DUers accept that this is her, and considering the content, I thought it would be okay to post it.
If I'm wrong, please delete.
Eye of newt, wart of toad, pinch of tail...
FREEDOM RULES!
lol, i thought the democrats had the witch vote sewn up.
She's gearing up the base for her husband's run in '08.
>She must be so proud of her fellow citizens on DU after they voted 4-1 that 11/3 was more depressing than 9/11.
Rush just mentioned this on his show.... these people are lower than dirt!!!
Word got out.
I doubt many surgeons read DU.
