A problem I am investigating at a Waffle House (vote supression)
There is a Waffle House in Dallas TX. I just received a call from my sister who says the manager of this establishment is refusing to allow employees to leave to vote (supposedly due to a shortage of personnel). Although I can understand a shortage of warm bodies, I believe this to be vote supression, deliberate or not.
I'm going to drive over to get the manager's name and the exact address of the place (the online directory does not list addresses). Is there someone who would know the next step in protecting these votes?
If their shift covers the entire 7 to 7 voting time, they must be excused from work to go vote. Otherwise, voting before or after work is their responsibility.
hmm... Im not going to make fun of the guy cause hes working at waffle house... thats immature..
But, the polls are open for 13 hours. Im sure he will have ample time after work.

Most people who work manage to make time either BEFORE or AFTER work to vote....or ask for the day off. Voting is a right AND a responsibility...people should be responsible enought to manage their time accordingly so they can VOTE. I swear that a majority of Democrats are stupid.
NO excuses anymore with early voting & absentee voting, etc etc.
Dear DUmmies: Here's a news flash for you... how about voting when your shift is over, instead of expecting your boss to give you time off?

Not only is our immediate supervisor (a lib) allowing people time off to go vote, but our company's head honchos endorsed Bush during a live telecast a couple of weeks ago.
It is a right.
Your employer must give you two hours paid time off to vote if your work schedule conflicts with the poll open times. It falls into the classification of reasonable accomodation.

I had one boss who let us take a half day off to vote, PAID!! We had to bring in the little "I Voted Sticker" to get paid. He was a great patriot and I believe a Republican, although he never said so.
What are you nuts?!? That would be much too *shudder* RESPONSIBLE of them! Remember, it's the job of the evil capitalist to not only provide jobs, but also to give time off to his employees whenever possible, even if the reason is non-sensical.
Yeah, but you have to consider that they have to get back to Mexico to vote in their precinct.
