A website I'm working on...

Posted on 10/11/2004 8:37:17 PM PDT by unaffiliatedin04

I'm working on a website to act as a voter guide for the election in the upcoming weeks. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that search engines are not going to pick it up, so I am trying to get the word out via word of mouth.

The url for the website is http://www.bushvkerry.us

If you find it useful, please pass on the link. If you do not, please disregard it.

If you have any constructive criticism of the site, suggestions for topics to add, or links to add to pre-existing topics, please direct those communications to either the email address listed in my profile or to webmaster@bushvkerry.us

TOPICS: Politics

I suppose I'm a little insulated against the mindless masses who STILL don't have a strong opinion about either President Bush or the other guy, BUT it seems to me the sections of ballots that cause more headaches are the supposedly non-partisan judges and the legalese-infested legislation. I do understand that finding ANY actual position on ANYTHING from the other guy is a daunting task, but at least he has an easily accesible Senate voting record. In my case, I had to look up each judge and find the year he was appointed. From there, I looked up the governor who appointed him. If said governor was a d'RAT, that was a "no". For the legislative questions, I found some useful information about who proposed the legislation originally. If that State representative was a d'RAT, again a "no" vote. I realize that to some, this method might seem lazy, but unfortunately, I am a relative late-comer to the political intricacies of my duties as a citizen of the great United States and this was the best I could do on such short notice. I hope that if anyone reads this message they get an idea or two about how to wade though their ballot. It may not be the best way, but it got me through.

You may consider adding suggestions to your site on how voters can obtain sample ballots and find information to help them make informed decisions on other issues in addition to the presidential race.

Either that or in the title....

when you have an article, you just keep that same title, but if it is a personal type thread, just name it something like "Ohio State is my favorite football team. (VANITY)".....something like that....

it will keep the mods off of you and keep the rabid FReepers at bay.....

Nice website!

"Unfortunately, I'm afraid that search engines are not going to pick it up . . . . "
As you probably know from searching on Google or others, posts on FreeRepublic do get picked up by search engines.

So lets post the websites name again and hope that the Google bots pick it up.

www.BushvKerry.us

PS - As long as your website isn't some lefty BS (which yours is not), it's perfectly alright to promote your site in the "Bloggers & Personal" section of FR.

Best of luck

You signed up today only to troll for hits for your site? That's not polite...

I know the election is only 3 weeks away, and I was sincerely hoping just to help people see the truth through the site.

I doubt if you can find more than one or two undecideds on this forum. All the truth anyone could ever need to know regarding the upcoming elections can be found right here.

Welcome to Free Republic! At least you didn't post in Breaking News!

I'm honestly not concerned with traffic to my site. If no one sees it, that's fine. I gain absolutely nothing for doing the site, or for anyone viewing it. The only purpose of the site is to attempt to make a difference in the election. If I offended anyone or came across as rude or impolite, I am sorry.

Someone did suggest adding a section for state by state election resources. I found a site that already contained mostly live links to those already, and here it is for anyone interested: http://www.llrx.com/columns/roundup10.htm

Thanks again to all for the feedback.
