Vetwife just called Falwell a hippocrite to his face !
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 04:44 PM by vetwife
I heard on Msnbc today thhe My God is bigger than your God argument as a man was speaking for John Kerry that he had faith and Falwell smarted off and saidYeah like having not two weeks ago the likes of Clinton preaching at your church. This set me off. I called Liberty University at 434-582 2000 and demanded to speek to Falwell.
I told he and his secretary named Kelly that if I had been for Bush that would have done it right there as I was speaking on behalf of thousands of christians and people of faith who belief he is a hipocrit and forgot Judge not lest you be judged. They were taking aback and I said, you blew it for your man. You judged as you have been doing and you are not God and God does not belong to one party. I am sick of this and you Falwell are the biggest hippocrit known today. I too am a christian but I am not God, neither is Bush and neither are you. He explained I took it out of context. I said. NO I DIDN'T. AND NEITHER HAVER THE THOUSANDS WHO WILL BE VOTING FOR YOUR JUDGING ! FOR KERRY AND AGAINST BUSH !

If you're considering doing this on regular basis, let me know: I'd kick in ten bucks toward the cost of recording equipment for these calls.

22. For all who have any faith left..Call that number ! SPEAK UP !
1-434=582-2000
Ask for Kelly and then ask for Falwell. be nice. Then say what you think but remember we are taking up for the christian and Faiths of other people on Kerry's behalf ! I don't suggest any name calling other than hippocritical ! We are not the hypocrites ! Call and and call him on his lack of tolerance and speaking for God when God does not belong to any party !

30. Here is the letter
http://www.viewerservices@msnbc.com
I am furious. I am a Christian and called Jerry Falwell for judging President Clinton.
That is not a Christian's job and God does not vote and is neither republican or democrat and does not belong to any one party. I will discontinue watching MSNBC if you people keep giving Falwell the last word. I will debate him. Forgiveness is our belief and he does not represent the Christian Faith. I am sick of having my faith hijacked !
Sincerely
Amanda L Kato

40. Dude!
As my kids would say! You just did a very Christian thing, at least my understanding what Christianity is about. You stood up for a man who was being judged, and reminded the Christians not to judge.

every attribute of the anti-Christ, IMHO.

51. I'm Sooooooo proud of you Vetwife!...Knitter, do call FOF because
They are EQUALLY sinister in their religious/political machinations.
I've written to them AND the the La Haye family (Left Behind series freaks)
What a "freeing" thread this is!
I am a Christian also...I call myself a reformed evangelical because I could no longer subscribe to the hard right agenda in that doctrine.
I was raised Pentecostal/charismatic....(ask me anything..eek) I believed that stuff wholeheartedly for YEARS UPON YEARS. I no longer believe it. I remain a follower of Christ and his teachings; I maintain a belief in God but I no longer associate with any organized religion. Maybe, someday, a place will open up for people like me.
In anycase, I too have the lingo down, baby! Been "dipped" and indoctrinated ("sanctified" lol) I can debate doctrine with the best of 'em.
As a matter of Fact, the driving force that caused me to find DU and get deadly serious about politics this time around, was because I was concerned about the "fake" religiosity of Bush. The first words out of my mouth when he got selected as prez were: anti christ
Those thoughts stemmed, naturally, from my religious upbringing..but it was weird how it popped into my mind so quickly. It was like an intuitive kind of thing. Whatever.
What I see clearer today is that Bush and his ilk are fakes. He's antichristian in principle, but not The Anti Christ, IMO. What stands out much more clearly is how much more Fascist Bushco is than anything else. Which is troublesome in and of itself, to be sure.
Nonetheless, the religious right have their arms in the political game up to their shoulders and it ain't good. The more powerful among them are giving christ like, loving Christians a bad name, and THEY SHOULD BE HELD TO ACCOUNTABILITY. I believe the scriptures give rights to believers to take disputes and "errors" to and about the "Priest/Pastors/Bishops/Et Al" and present them to the "body/Church" for resolution.
So, if you know your Christian history/doctrine, then please do present it to those Pharisees...those wolves in sheeps clothing. Those whitewashed seplecures whose insides are rotten. Remember it was said that the Devil himself will present himself as an angel of Light and he quotes scripture better than we do.... :scare:
End of sermon...LOL WTG VETSWIFE!!

happened last year In Ocotber. I sure get under the radar. Here ya go.
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0310/30/nfcnn.02.html
HARRIS: I certainly think they are and they are being very sensitive to it. They are very interested in our trip. And it was rather historic that we met with some of the women, since they comprise 61 percent of the population, how they were going to interact in the Governing council and writing of the new constitution.
But, yes, they are being responsive to the terrorist attacks and how we are dealing with it. They're constantly reevaluating. And I think they are going to have some different opportunities for the troops.
BLITZER: Let's take another caller. Amanda, go ahead. You are on the air.
CALLER: My question is for Katherine Harris. Did you get the opportunity to speak with the Iraqi women and encourage them to follow your lead in going into public office so that they, too, could disenfranchise voters?

She turned red in the face and Wolf looked like a deer stuck in the headlights and the Congresswoman Tauscher was smiling all but laughing. That too was a good day !

They are getting more & more Rude, crude, and out of control over there. It's such a shame they have to stoop to this level.
I'm no fan of Falwell but these people need to know that Jesus meant that we should not judge SOULS. We're perfectly free to call a spade a spade.
Yes, a crazy woman called yesterday. No, she did not talk to Dr. Falwell. I informed Kelly that the crazy woman was a member of a discussion board whose sole purpose is to get Kerry elected, and she wasn't surprised. We had a pleasant laugh, and she thought the bit about vetwife throwing Scripture around was especially funny. I said, "So Dr. Falwell doesn't take calls from random lunatics who wish to yell at him?" Kelly said, "No ma'am, he surely doesn't. You have to get through me to talk to him, and I wouldn't permit that."
