Without that Law… You have nothin’.

‘Mornin’ folks! How the hell are ya this mornin’, anyways? Coffee’s on, and is it good this mornin’, too! Ya best grab a cup and get some, I’d reckon. Ya gotta get yer head wrapped around the day ‘fore ya start out the door. Paper’ll be along after a bit! I gots first dibs onna funny pages, too!

Well, looks like a couple folks here and there think I’m some sort of political pundit now. …I do like puns… I don’t know what the ‘dit’ means, though… If they’d said, “pun-dis“, I mighta knowed what was a goin‘ on. Little do them folks know, I can ‘pun’ on near everything. I’m a ‘pun’-dit on everything, I reckon. What the hell does pundit mean anyways? Lemme grab my pocket dictionary and see… That’s a good picture of Polk… P… LMNOP… PU… PUNC… puncture… pundit! A learn-ed person. Ooops! Leaves me out. …If ya count alphabets behind my name, that is. I ain’t even got any numbers behind my name fer that matter! I’m just a hillbilly a livin’ in redneck paradise. Ain’t the Internet a wonderful thing… I don’t know if I qualify fer bein’ a redneck, really. I ain’t got any toilet or used tire flowerbeds inna yard. Not even a bathtub flowerbed! None of my outfits is sittin’ on blocks. They all gots tires on ‘em, too! Nope. No plastic pink flamingos either. Not even a plastic milk jug mailbox out front. …I got a plastic newspaper box, but it ain’t a milk jug.

I got books all over the house, too. I reckon I’m a disappointment to the entire redneck community! Then again, some of them folks with numbers and letters behind their names don’t take to me, either. I reckon I’m just me is all. Ain’t nobody got to like it any.

One thing, (and yeah, I’m gonna connect it to politics) is that when ya let yer predispositions, and yer prejudices affect yer thinkin’, no matter how much ya know or don’t know, it affects yer politics, yer religion, yer thinkin’, yer families, and those ya live with and visit with. Fer good or ill. Now then, the next thing that happens, we done visited over it the last couple months. Ya ain’t thinkin’ right by blamin’ others fer who they are. Ya end up wantin’ them to be more like you. Social studies stuff, small and large group dynamics, tribal mentalities, peer pressure, anthropology, peckin’ orders… However ya wanta lookit it, ya end up wantin’ what you want, when ya want it. It affects everything ya say, do, or believe in. Yer a little child when ya do that. Even if ya know better… …and do it anyways.

Now to politics. Lots of folks get to votin’, they let their childishness affect who they vote for, and who they want doin’ what in their politicians. (That inner-child stuff is a dangerous road sometimes) They ferget that other folks live in this nation who’re some different than they are. They don’t figger that the other feller deserves his freedom to be who he is…the way he wants to be…the way he wants to live. When you vote for what you want, the way you want it, your not votin’ for freedom. Yer votin’ for tyranny. Yer tryin’ to be a bully inna playground, and you want what you want, no matter how much it’s gonna hurt anyone else. That includes takin’ some other kid’s lunch money so you go buy candy.

Yer not votin’ responsible-like, and yer not considerin’ that what comes around-goes around, and when it does come around, you ain’t gonna like it when the other feller does it to you.

Freedom, liberty, life and livin’ it, it all requires that ya be not only responsible for your own freedom, but that ya keep in mind yer responsibility to the freedom of others. Yer family, yer friends, yer neighbors, yer co-workers, yer employees, the guy with all letters and numbers behind his name…or the feller a livin’ in a little piece of redneck paradise. Don’t be tryin’ to change the other feller with the laws you want…’cause sooner or later someone’s gonna be comin’ around wantin’ to change you with the laws he wants. If yer votin’ fer folks that have changed or are tryin’ to change The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights, you don’t want anyone bein’ free. Not even yerself. The Constitution is not a ‘Living Document’. It is the law. Without that law, you have nothing. …and neither do I…

Well, I reckon. That’s enough to figger over fer one day! Warm up yer coffee, fore ya head out. Fellers gotta have his eyes open ‘fore he faces the day. It’s a new day, folks! We’ve got another chance to get ‘er all sorted out. We’ve got another opportunity to get ‘er right! Make sure ya take advantage of it, will ya.
