Islam is two things wrapped in one. Radical Islam is plaque, aimed at killing us. "Moderate" Islam is AIDS aimed at putting down our defenses. The rationalization of terror is part of the "moderate" game. If it continues to spread in Western countries, the Western civilization will be dead.

Islam is evil, and has killed everything it's touched for over a thousand years. Islam is a disease; a cancer on the butt of life. It's practitioners are mindless adherents to murder, terror, boy-buggering, women-chattelling, and many unspeakable horrors. This is blatantly false. Most of us are not taught that it doesn't matter which religion.

Most of us are Christians. And Christians are taught that you must have Jesus for salvation. There is no other way. Any so-called Christian who beliefs otherwise, has not studied the Christian scriptures.

What we are taught is that we don't want someone telling us how to believe or worship God and therefore we should be respectful of other's rights. That people have a God given freedom of choice about their beliefs, even to the point of rejecting Him. And that people can reject Jesus if they choose to, but unless they violate some civil law, it is not our place to punish them for wrong beliefs. As long as they aren't violating anyone else's rights, that's between them and God.

We are also taught that God loved us while we were yet sinners. That God desires all men to come to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus.

And that is why we approach Islam as we do. We don't nuke Islamic lands, despite the fact that Islam is a threat to us. Instead we surgically destroy the most militant of Islam at risk to ourselves. And we attempt to teach about democracy and basic human rights, in hopes that the less militant Muslims will come to see the light, not just about Freedom and Human Rights but about Jesus.

A few follow up comments, some to other follow-up quotes:

1. The moral-equivalence BS needs to stop. Wm. Wilberforce, H.B. Stowe, Wm. Garrison and others were Christians that stopped slavery, for the first time, in the history in the world. Saudi Arabia didn't outlaw slavery until the 1960's and Mohammedans in Africa are still exercising it today. Indeed, the Mohammedans were the ones who first sold black slaves to Europeans. Mohammed himself owned slaves. Did Christ? How about the Apostles and the Disciples?

Some idiot preachers may have defended slavery in the antebellum South, and for that matter no doubt one will find preachers today using the Bible to justify vegetarianism, abortion, etc. They follow the holy zeitgeist, not the Holy Spirit.

As far as violence goes, did Christ or any of his immediate followers ever commit an act of violence except for Peter in the garden? And then what happened? Christ put a stop to it and healed the injured party. Mohammed would have rebuked Peter for not cutting the man's head off.

2. Stop calling it Islam. They are not servants of God. They are followers of Mohammed, i.e., Mohammedans.

3. The real danger is when average Americans, seeing no answer in Christianity, are attracted to this religion. Mohammedans don't dare question any portion of their faith, and some see that as clarity and confidence. I see it as lacking in confidence that no questions dare be raised. Nonetheless, this no doubt attracts people who don't want to think for themselves.

If you don't want the Mohammedans to take over, then fill the religion vacuum in this country and in the world. G.K. Chesterson, Dietrich Bonhoffer, and C.S. Lewis are some really good authors to prepare one to understand and to speak out for the truth. One could debate who wrote the best apologetics, but the important thing is to study them. Don't put up with lily-livered clergy who are embarrassed by Christianity either. Stopping the global conquest of Mohammedians is hardly the reason to be a Christian, but should further motivate one to be the best one that one can be. The best way to put a stop to the heresy of Mohammed is to replace it with the truth.

I do not mean to trivialize the issue you raise here with disucssions of font types. This is an extremely serious subject you've raised here. I've noticed the very serious demeanor of Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, and the President over the last few months. I think their serious mood is caused by the nuclear crises in North Korea and Iran. They know that if Bush wins re-election they are heading into two crises that will both be like a slow-motion Cuban Missile Crisis--just as serious but much more drawn out in time.

If the radical Islamists get hold of nuclear weapons, we are in really big trouble and it astounds me how naive the western media is on this issue. You're really a Paul Revere rining the bell on this issue, so keep it up and if you MUST use bold-face I guess I can adjust. But this is THE big issue of our day and I'm sure we'll have more discussions about this later. When you visit Arizona, send me an email and I'll buy you a cold beverage or two.
