Put another way, you cannot dispute the fact that Karl Marx, the granddaddy of leftist thuggery, and marxists ever since him personally adore and champion Abe Lincoln so you call the website that hosted an article pointing this out names.

How about zotted as a disruptor?

Thomas DiLosero must spend sleepless nights trying to figure out his next hit on Lincoln. Talk about obsessive-complusive...

In other words, you can't deny the fact that commies since Marx himself have been Lincoln's biggest champions so you make ad hominem slurs upon the author.

It's not unusual for demogogues of every stripe to try to wrap up their pet cause with some historical hero. The fact that Marxists claim to respect Lincoln doesn't mean squat.

No rebuttal to the argument, prepare for smear tactics. Spot on for DiLorenzo - nailed it again.

It's not unusual for demagogues to attack the person who points out an unpleasant fact that they don't like. Obviously the fact that Lincoln has been a hero of the commies from the very beginning does mean something to you though, or else you would not be spending the effort to attack the person who pointed this out.

Gore lost. Get over it. Douglass lost. Get over it.

Actually Douglass won the famed senate race.

This reminds me of Ho Chi Minh's defenders among the "teach in" crowd and the 60's war protestors. They always cited that Uncle Ho loved the U.S. initially and even tried to dress like his hero Woodrow Wilson. Naturally there is much in Wilson's politics for a conservative or limited government type not to like. The "teach ins" never presented the years Ho spent in Moscow or his attacks on the true Vietnamese nationalist who had really fought the Japanese.

I'm usually more of a critic of Buckley than his defender but I could defend his BIG GOVERNMENT IS NECESSARY FOR THE COLD WAR line by pointing out that even Jefferson Davis and the Confederate government did take lots of emergency measures that curtailed individual and state liberty as the bid for Southern Independence became more threatened.

With Tommy DiLusional, I'd say it belongs under Abnormal Psychology. This guy is further out than Michael Moore.

Gen. George B. McClelland lost (in politics, and on the battlefield usually when he got around to doing anything at all). Get over it.

In other words, attack the author since you cannot dispute the fact that Lincoln's biggest fans have been marxists from day one.

Washington has been used (abused) by the leftists just as much. Remember Uncle Ho --- the George Washington of S.E. Asia? Fidel Castro --- The George Washington of Cuba? Does that mean that George was a commie too?

Nah. I don't know of any granddaddys of communism who sent Washington a letter congratulating him on reelection. Nor do I know of Washington having a response sent back reading thanks.

I saw Arnie bragging on Lincoln the other night. Is he a Marxist?

Ronald Reagan constantly quoted Lincoln and wrote of how much he admired him. Was Ronald Reagan a Marxist?

I'm a big fan of Lincoln. Am I a Marxist?

But totalitarians find so much to hate about Washington. He left power while in perfect health! How could a popular man do such a thing! And all this balance between a powerful central financial force (Hamilton) and largely independent geographic agrarian areas (Jefferson) does not really suit any totalitarian at all.
