'Swifties' window sticker available (Vanity)
Self ^ | 8/25/04 | Chieftain, WVRomania

Posted on 08/25/2004 5:50:39 PM PDT by Chieftain

I was asked by many FReepers to make this it's own thread, as they felt it wasn't getting enough exposure.

I put this EXPOSE KERRY'S FRAUD SWIFT BOAT VETERANS FOR TRUTH sticker on my truck the other day. The next day on the way to work and back home I got lots of honks and 'thumbs up'! Lots of folks liked the message as we are seeing in the sales of "Unfit for Command".

The sticker serves 2 purposes:
1 - Shows visible support for "Swift Boat Veterans For Truth" to passing motorists
2 - Gets the swiftvets.com website visible to the public, so they can and find out more about 'Hanoi John' Kerry

Made by fellow FReeper disabled vet who has a bone to pick with Kerry, like we all do!
Large (24" Wide 12" Tall) like mine
Small (12" Wide 6" Tall)
Profits go to swiftvets.com

To get yours, FReep mail for details.

post 138 shows it.
The original showed some of the ground an darea around the bird.
The one in 138 is cropped, making the door more easily seen and no ground to be seen.

It is a pretty sight to see though!

Thanks, Chieftain; got to see it. Glad you said look quick! Seems like these are realllly getting around. Woohoo!

Awesome - be sure and give your pal who makes these a big thank you. And kudos to you for being the distributor. I'm sure it's great fun getting flagged down so folks can buy 'em.

Thanks, Darksheare - I did get to view it. I bet it is a very welcome site wherever it is. Better than those old WWII planes with the semi-nude women, ya think? LOL!!

Welcome.
Some of those old nose art works were rather good though.
And, being that I draw in my spare time, I kinda like them for the skill and talent they took to do.
But, being that sensibilities change, I do not see such artwork as having a place anymore.
But naming aircraft and having some kind of work on the aircraft does still have a place.

I had to have the original removed (reply #128). I cropped the pic to just show the door. That is an M-60 (7.62mm) machine gun above the door. This is a combat bird that is actually in combat.

I was just teasing. You bet there was some great artwork! I wish I could remember the website devoted to them I visited years ago and I'd link it. You probably know the one - ???

(Some were a little on the naughty side, lol. Not too naughty back then though.)

A little googling - http://www.amsky.com/~cafairgroup1/wwii_flying_museum/museum.htm

That one above says it's a museum, but I didn't look through it. At first glance, it wasn't what I recalled.

Here's some more.

Here's the one I think I recall.
http://www.nose-art.net/
Somewhere within the links on that page. (They have very small hints of them at the bottom of the page.) But within that page/links somewhere (!) are some VERY cool 'nose art' on the WWII planes.

Sorry, Chieftain, if I got off kilter here about the plane. Didn't mean to throw your thread off. Just got in a small talk.

But wow, gotta say, even though this can't be called "nose art" - it sure makes a BIG statement. It'll probably go into the history books. Well, you know it won't make it into real books. But maybe in internet history - it will get onto war plane history pages!

High five your buddy who designed and made them and you too for distributing! And proceeds to Swift Boats - what could be better!
